Hi,

I am a noob with everything Nintendo Switch.

I received a Switch for my Birthday.
Looking at the Serial Number it is switched.

Does this mean that there is no way of installing CFW and playing games on this console?

Thank you

What are the first 9 digits of your serial number? If it falls under the "possibly patched" range, it could still be exploitable (mine was).

The best way to check is just try injecting cfw. If you have a patched model, there is no cfw that supports it at this time. If it’s in the “possibly patched” area then it’s a safe bet just to check my injecting the cfw :P

Don’t update it. Patched Switches on firmwares 4.1.0 to 7.0.1 will be hackable eventually (4.1.0 hacks will be coming very soon ;)). If you’ve already updated to 8.x you’re permanently screwed and will likely never be able to hack it

Yes, thanks for the advice!

I hadn’t read all the information and thought I’d might as we’ll update it. Learn my mistake and bought a new one and returned the updated one!

Will be waiting patiently with my new switch on firmware 4.1!

Team Xecuter is hard work at hacking the unhackable switches

They said that a long time ago, and I highly doubt they will come up with a method to hard mod a Ipatched switch. Their own software and frame work is based on reswitched's work. So why should anyone believe that they will come up with a hardware based solution? IF ANYTHING reswitched already proved they are further ahead! As the sept payload uses another exploit in the switch that they only know at the moment that gives the switches tsec keys when they couldn't be dumped. I'm sick of hearing this propaganda that "TX will solve it" when they are known in the switch hacking scene for copying!
If they didn't blatantly copy someone else work and try to hide it, I would actually be significantly less skeptical.

They’ll release hacks for FG patched systems... a week or two after Reswitched does

Also btw sept doesn’t use an exploit.

Expect more stuff to come when the new switch models come out as they are waiting to see if they have the same flaws

To be honest you could be waiting years ..... Sell it and go to game stop and but a used one ... ask to see the Serial before you buy and take a paper with the highest possible hackable switch number on it... that or just enjoy the switch you have ,,, staying on a low firmware will give you no fun.

They said that ages ago and haven't even provided the slightest proof of their claims. You basically mean Xecuter is currently waiting till somebody else does it and they can implement it letting someone else do all the work

you have best chance at getting hackable switches from ebay. all of my switches from ebay are hackable. just verify the serial. dont spend more than $170 for hackable tablet without joycons.

I know few guys selling just the tablets in UK which are hackable, how are they getting this in so many numbers?

great question. I was wondering about that. the numbers are higher in usa. I seen so many switches on ebay esp this seller that I bought few switches from him....

one of the broken switches came from the return pallet at the store. I fixed it and I used it as test atmosphere switch.

A software hack will be available to switches up to firmware 7.0.1 but 4.x models will be getting it a bit quicker though

Just want to ask, I already have one iPatched switch on 7.0.1 but I don't want to wait for crack anymore. So I checked few of this tablet only switches on ebay and I want to ask if is it save to buy one based on serial code. It just looks too easy and fishy.

It uses another Tegra chip exploit. There was a reason why cfw was stuck for 7.0 it was due the inability to actually get the keys required to boot the switch into horizon. (Nintendo made significant changes to how pk1 and pk2 was handled)
And sept was able to dumb those keys. There was a reason why SX OS was having a hard time getting to 7.0. It was because they couldn't get the keys, and to avoid using sept, they waited for someone to drop they keys so they could just bake it into the loader.
Second off your wrong about "release"
Again SX OS's code was based off a significantly older build of atmosphere. So in reality if you seriously want to argue that because there was no release version, that SX OS was first, then sx os is not a release but a alpha build of atmosphere that was closed sourced, and the only change that was added was emulating game carts.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.

  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol

I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
