i got the card formatted re partioned etc and was able to successfully apply the newest update to this xci backup as well as have the dlc unlocker actually work - i now have unlocked characters i didnt before and i had no errors. i did have to install this in album area with installer not the sx installer in homebrew area as previously instructed its really frustrating there is so much bad info

So I just realized 18 out of my 20 games installed on my switch dont work anymore after the update to 8.0.1 I am confused and dont even know what to do at the moment. I'm a non when it comes to this. Please help and also I still dont understand how to install nsp on the file either through goldleaf or tinfoil. All response will be appreciated. Thanks

Which CFW is running on your switch? If atmosphere: Are you using the sigpatches for 8.0.1?

No idea. Gat all this done by a friend but he ain't available at the moment.

After updating the switch to 8.0.1 I used the exfat option. So I also noticed a pop up asking me to update my controller. Is it safe to do so without affecting anything

Well, you should know at least which CFW you're running. I guess your using Atmosphere. I am pretty sure your friend didn't pay 30 bucks for you. Download sigpatches from here and extract them to the root of your micro sd card.

If you don't mod your controller, simply accept the update.

If you didn't hard modded as in solder wires , then the joycon can be updated. See post 13122 how to use Goldleaf.

Hi, I would like to use multiple sd cards, is there any guide on how to setup this? I think that homebrew apps have to be on each card, but what about games? I plan to have 10 games on 1 card, 10 on second etc. Is it possible to use it like this? I know I have to restart when changing sd cards. Thank you

Games, updates, and DLC installed to the SD card are stored in the Nintendo folder. If you don't want games to be shared across SD cards, do not move the Nintendo folder to your other SD cards but move all of the other files and folders.

Thank you. So, when I change sd cards, only games from that card inserted will be shown? Other games will "disappear" until I insert their card back. That seems very simple, just one more question. I just copy all folders except Nintendo, no need to clone anything?

I don't think the icons disappear as the save data for the game will still be on the console. Also copying all of the folders except the Nintendo one can be considered cloning but yes.

Now that I've update to the newest firmware its keeps saying there is a controller update. I don't have my switch set up for internet is there any way to update the controllers through a file online?

Controller update file are stored on system firmware.
Oh so I should be able to just press update and it will do it without be connected to the internet?

Edit: Okay I did it.. I don't know why I just didn't try it to begin with it. Thanks for answering my stupid questions

You can connect to wifi , as there is no newer firmware if you are already on 8.0.1, it doesn't really matter if you update the controller or not, ain't a big difference, I haven't update any of my 4 switches for a while.
