Gentlemen, I'm facing similar issue of Black Screens and Console's halt. I guess I've already read all the 15 pages of this post and I've tried all the suggestions, but still having problems. I have my original help request post here: help-cant-load-any-game-from-usb-hard-drive-cfg-loader-halts-on-ios-248-ios-reload-blocked.539923/#post-8660903. Unfortunately as a new member I can't attach the link for the post, so I'll copy it down here to give you guys (in special to
@Cyan ) one idea of my situation:
"...
Recently I've updated my Wii using ModMii; I've followed all the steps flawless but since I did it I'm not able to load any game from my USB hard drive.
The problem comes with USB loader GX: whenever I try to boot a game from my USB drive it seems to boot normally but halts the Wii just after. The only way to get out of this black screen is by pressing Power button for some seconds.
As I have the CFG loader from the ModMii installation. I've tried it to, but using CFG I still have the Wii halted during the loading procedure at this point:
IOS(248).......
IOS Reload: Blocked
Loading ................
As in the other loader, the only way to get out of this black screen is by pressing Power button for some seconds.
My syscheck is :

Originally I had d2x-v6 for IOS247[57] and IOS248[56] and d2x-v8final for IOS249[56] and IOS250[57]. In another forum a guy solved his problem by updating those IOS for the latest v10 so I've tried it too, but without success
I'm using a 250GB external USB Hard Drive from Western Digital... It's formated as FAT32 in just one partition. The games were transferd to the HD using the WiiBackupManager_Build78 tool.
..."
I've installed d2x-v10 beta 52 on slot 251 base58 as I've read in previous posts. Additionally I've tried to configure USB Loader GX to load from slots 249, 250 and 251... All failed as before...
I'm really in trouble as I've just bought the Wii for my kids as they were "claiming" for it, and now all the games I've managed to get to them are not working anymore...
Please, if someone could HELP I'll be VERY THANKFUL !!!
