Hacking Going Online w/SXOS- Clarification Please

I've been out of the game for a little and now I see I have stealth mode in SXOS. Quick question, is it now safe to go online with sxos, play a backup with stealth enabled and not get banned? If not, is there a "safe" way right now to go online and use a backup or even use an original game?

I've searched and I'm seeing something also called incognito. Is that the preferred method then?

Stealth Mode makes console unable to connect nintendo servers. You can safely use WiFi connection for FTP, Modded Youtube, Tinfoil etc.
Incognito works different as it deletes console serial number so theoretically nintendo shouldnt be able to ban you but you still cannot connect to theirs servers (and im using it).

If you mean play games online with multiplayer, then no. Stealth mode just blocks your console from connecting to Nintendo's servers.

I'm using sxos online with my own backups, including their certs, since shortly after it started supporting gamecard certs for online, and I'm still not banned yet.
But I also never installed any nsp, and I'm loading the creport and error system modules from atmosphere using layered fs, to keep my nand clear from error logs (keep in mind that custom nca system modules will not work in sxos). Because of this the first thing I do on every sxos start is to disable stealth mode, which is enabled on every boot, to be able to use all online features.

Being able to use my dumps online is also the only reason I'm still using sxos instead atmosphere most of the time.

Stealth mode = DNS. So it won't connect you (thus you can play games while "online" without getting banned). However, if you ever decide to go online (without DNS/stealth mode)) after hacking, you might get banned as all the data you weren't sending will get sent.
So it is safe until you decide to go real online.

It's never safe to be online but it's good to have SX OS with its emunand and stealth mode active (until Atmosphere gets emunand one day). Using incognito on your emunand will help your cert from being stolen. Once you setup emunand, recover your sysnand to a clean state if you have a backup before doing any homebrew

I've been using SXOS without emunand since this whole scene started back in 2018 I've never even installed Choidujour and all my titles are updated through Nintendo, I just never played online while on CFW and I buy games from time to time from eshop, maybe this matters.... All I can say is that my Nintendo online services are just as fine as the day I bought it.

I'm not telling anyone to be this careless, I'm just saying my personal experience and that this Nintendo ban is really subjective afaik.

Edit: I've never updated/installed any .nsp aside the one's I bought. I rely solely on .xci

Same here. Have been using Ams since the beginning (and have been updating games through nintendo) and I am still waiting for the ban. But I have only used NSPs.
Still, the rule of thumb is that being online with CFW will get you banned.

After roughly 300 switch mods I can say for certain emunand is 100% safe to date

Non emunand - Ive seen some switches banned instantly and other still not banned with only updating games through Nintendo and sometimes system updating

I'm on your boat but I've been using just 1 cert (bayonetta 2) for all xcis from the scene dumps. still being on eshop just fine.

if you want to go online with sxos prepare a 128gb sdcard,setup an sd emunand,that way sysnand is for online and emunand is for shady things

I did it like this:

- boot into whatever CFW you're using and delete all your internet settings, enable airplane mode
- open SXOS boot menu for the first time, create EMUNAND
- turn off console, remove SD card (this will be your "piracy" card)
- copy only the file needed on boot by SXOS in a new sd card (your "clean" card)
- boot hekate payload, restore SYSNAND backup (absolutely CLEAN, made with hekate before you ever tampered with your console)

So, whenever you want to go legit, put in your clean SDCARD, boot SXOS payload with VOL UP pressed, choose original FW.

If you want to play with your pirated stuff, put in piracy SDCARD, boot SXOS payload with VOL UP and choose EMUNAND (on my first emunand boot, I installed Incognito, enabled stealth mode, and only THEN I set up an internet connection with 90DNS.)
