Hacking Discussion Struggling to setup L4T Ubuntu for Switch

Hey guys, i'm a complete noob to Linux
and i seem to be struggling abit setting up L4T Ubuntu..

i've managed to boot into Linux on the switch and set the Disk Partition, however theres a few problems..
I can't seem to understand how to update L4T Ubuntu with the latest update,
the keyboard aswell as touchscreen capability is awful and when i go into the Gnome-Terminal and it requires my password whenever i use the caps lock for the first letter of my password it accepts that as the entry for my whole password and asks me to type my password in again meaning im stuck in a loop and can't enter any of the entries i need to put in.. I can't get the Joy Cons recognised through the bluetooth settings whatsoever even when pressing the sync buttons.. and setting up Dolphin Gamecube Emulation w/ Vulkan is pretty much the end goal and the reason i want to use L4T Ubuntu however when i plug my Micro SD into my PC to drop some games on it.. it says that the Micro SD only has less than 100MB on it?

I've had a look at both the OG post for L4T Ubuntu aswell as the Application Install Guide here:

however it all just seems like gibberish to me, if i could get someone to explain how to get this all working to a Linux noob i'd really appreciate it

I would recommend you learn to read & follow the simple instructions given to you. If you can not follow simple instructions then Linux is not for you. Also, why even make this thread? All you're doing is making clutter.

All you have to do is read through the pages of the thread! You make sd card, then you copy update over to sd card, overwrite what is there!
For setup you pair, install the pack with app-get then you configure you controls..
Again read through Ubuntu’s thread on how to setup, maybe you did diskpart wrong or you only have 100MB on you card, all there you can get from just reading( including full commands) shit do it on the switch, all you got to do is copy and paste lol!

Since you got ready for that, I would like to ask you some questions.

Can this OS be used without installation, like any distro I know.

Can I do the installation on an external HDD-USB connected to the Dock and use the MicroSD as a Bootloader that detects the installation of the OS on my HDD-USB ?.

that i'm not quite sure of as i haven't tried that out yet.

@Ghost92, however you can use USB drives as partitions to store data apps and stuff on them
I'll try to resize and move the partition where the OS is currently installed and move it to the external hdd while using the SD card on the switch to boot the bootloader files and so on.

I think you're wrong. If noobs like OP can not follow simple instructions like the ones given on L4T thread, they should not be messing around with Linux period.

Copy an OS and two patch updates to the MicroSd and start the corresponding Payload ?, I think what I mean is the process of installing OS, I have never tried to install a Distro more than try them without installation. And just wanting to be more careful for being an installation on Nintendo Switch, I would like to see a good Video that tells me what not to do.

Yes, i am aware that he can not understand how to install linux on his own, but that's why me(and whoever else wishes to) am trying to help him.

He should know how to install it because the instructions are on the thread and they are simple. That is one of the biggest problems on this site, people are to lazy to research and read. 90% of the threads on the switch subforum are noobs to lazy to read, so instead they start a new thread because they feel entitled. If a person does not know how to read then in all honesty they should not be hacking their consoles.

Well some people are like that but you shouldn't pay much attention to that. Trust me getting frustrated at this won't do you any good.

I've read the other 2 threads, but I've never used linux and I'm not in a hurry to use it, I'd rather wait for people like you to make it easier to use it.

I've read through every page on both threads and still don't understand, I'd just prefer something along the lines of a Video guide or someone to just tell me what to do step by step. Hacking my switch was simple and setting up CFW etc.. Linux is just different, never used Linux ever before so it's a different ball game.
