How to install Custom Font

Hi. I'm gonna show you how to install a font for Wii U.

What you need:
FTPiiU_Everywhere
FileZilla or other FTP client
Mocha CFW
A TTF file

Let's get started.

- Launch the Homebrew Launcher

- Boot to Mocha CFW (leave everything default)

- Launch the Homebrew Launcher again

- Launch FTPiiU_Everywhere

- Connect to Wii U's IP address with FileZilla or other FTP client

- Navigate to /storage_mlc/sys/title/0005001b/10042400/content

- Backup the original system fonts

- Replace the font over CafeStd.ttf

- Power off the console, unplug for several seconds, plug it in again

- Power on

If successfull, congratulations! :D

Please be careful with replacing system file(s). I am not responsible for bricked Wii U console. Do it at your own risk.

Question, do we need to have CBHC installed for this to work, or does the system not care if we have a custom font? (I mean after the fact, as you have to use mocha during the process)

Worked wonders for the first a dozen times.

But now my CBHC'd system fails to load the menu for whatever reason.

Is there any way to access the database without FTPiiU/main menu so I can revert to a backup file?

possibly. press home at autobooting, then load the homebrew launcher, then ftpii u everywhere and revert the file. I've never tried this, but I've done it on the ps3. it also uses true text format (ttf).

Thank you so much, I had completely forgot about this auto-boot setting! I was sure I'd already managed to brick my system!

Kudos, good fellow! //And such a fast reply, too!
