Hi guys,

I previously updated BOTW to 1.6.0 but found some mods don't work, so I deleted all data and re installed with the 1.5.0 update. Now it's asking me to update before I can play, presumably because it knows there is a 1.6 update available.

Is there anyway around this or am I stuck with using 1.6?

I'm running SXOS on 8.0.1

Thanks

Can always try to delete and reinstall (save file is not deleted)
Also backup your saves with checkpoint to be safe before doing anything

This same question wad asked about 2 days ago. This is why people need to ignore the noobs. They do not even bother to read, instead they feel entitled.

Oh dear, entitled? No. Noob? Certainly not, actually been a member for 10 years (here's a tip, don't let the post count fool you).

devmenu. delete required FW for that game.

Thanks Naddel, have had a look around but don't think I can get to devmenu on my firmware version.

Thanks, I've done that for now, hopefully the mods will be updated for 1.6 soon

If you want to use the mod you can delete the update and the ticket for the 1.6 update, and then you should be able to launch the mod with the game, 1.6 gave access to VR and faster loading time, so it is your choice.

Crap, updated yesterday after reading about the drastically improved loading time and completely forgot about the mods. Mind telling me what mods you were using? I'm only using the Linkle mod with a bunch of converted costumes, hopefully they are not affected.

DevMenu works on every firmware, even the latest one (8.0.1). And it is indeed the solution to reset the required update (1.6.0) to install another one (1.5.0 in your case).
