It does, you need to use USB install though, installing from SD card won't work with original tinfoil now

If you want SD card installing then Goldleaf 0.5 and lithium are alternatives
I see. so since I only use SD install, time to remove it from my SD card then

one more noob question
I'm currently still on 6.2.0 (will update to later FW soon)
Goldleaf 0.5 is quite stable now? because the last time I was using 0.3 it keeps crashing when installing any games. that's why I keep using OG tinfoil until now

I updated my firmware from 7.0.1 to 8.0.0 using ChoiDujourNX, installed Atmosphere 0.8.9 and Kosmos 12.1.2, downloaded the es and fs patches from: https://gbatemp.net/threads/i-heard-that-you-guys-need-some-sweet-patches-for-atmosphere.521164/ and am using hekate ver. 4.10.1 with my rcm dongle (autoRCM enabled).

I can boot into CFW just fine and play all of my previously installed games, but when I try to launch new games that I've installed AFTER the firmware update it gives me an error telling me that the software can't be launched and when I try to launch it a second time it tells me it's corrupted.

Some games I tried to install I've had them installed before, but I deleted their save data and game data from Data Management before trying to install them again. Others I had never had them prior to now.

One game is a converted .nsp from xci - does that have anything to do with the error?

The other is the 1.0.3 update for MK 11 - I could play the game on 1.0.2, but after trying to update to 1.0.3 I've been getting this error (hence the reason why I updated in the first place, thinking that fw 8.0.0 would make the MK update work).

How can I fix this?

My current situation:
System version: 6.1.0
CFW: AMS 0.7.5 (Kosmos)
NSP installer: Tinfoil 0.2.1 (using Aluminiumfoil for USB install)
Firmware installer: ChoiDuJourNX version 1.0.1
Payload: hekate_ctcaer_4.2.bin

I have not followed the developments for several months, but heard that 7.0 brought new hack prevention. I want to update to a later firmware to be able to play more recent games (especially Final Fantasy X).

Questions:
1. To which exact firmware should I currently update? (What is the latest firmware that is hackable and has the most features?)
2. How should I perform the update, is it just using my current version of ChoiDuJour like before or do I have to keep other things in mind?
2. Which package of CFW files should I place on my SD card?
4. Do I have to use a new/different payload?
5. What is currently the best tool for installing NSPs over usb?

To anyone able to answer these questions (partially): thank you :D!

Ill update to Firmware 8.0.1. Is there any reason not to choose "Exfat" when updating with ChoiDujourNX? haven't done it the previous times i updated, but maybe i should choose it this time?

Your NAND will be a bit smaller but in the end it doesn't really matter. Keep in mind that you should only use FAT32 because exFAT has corruption issues on the switch.

1) 8.0.1 is the latest firmware and hackable. Personally I would update to 7.0.1 because there is for me no point to upgrade to 8.0.1. No game requires 8.0.1 yet (Maybe updates but idc).
2) With ChoiDujourNX as always.
3) Replace all old files with the latest Kosmos release.
4) No.
5) Goldtree.

I want to update sysnand and emunand to 8.0.1, I have autorcm enabled but I can't remember if I installed it with Hekate or SX OS (I think is the latest) so I want to disable it before updating, I remember that you must uninstall the autorcm with the same utility you used to install it or it can brick my system, is that true? and is there a way I can know for sure which one I used?

Hello!
First post and sorry if I'm going against board rules (search, etc.)

I bought a used switch from a friend (after checking the serial number - it's an unpatched unit) - but he has been playing online with it (He doesn't know the fw; I'll check it when I get the console)
Do I face any troubles? Is a CFW still possible? Am I locked out?

Or should i just visit the hompage you guys linked up there (even though I don't find any tips regarding my situation)

I don't care which CFW to use - I just want to play with backup games and maybe some NES/SNES Emulators.

Thank you very much for helping me!

Just try to enter RCM, if you can you should be good to go, do your NAND backup and go with Kosmos.

You don't have to disable autoRCM before updating.

Nice, thank you.
Follow up question - If I cannot enter RCM, does that mean, I'm out of luck?
You can enter RCM on patched units too but you can't inject a payload.

hi,
i think i have bricked my Nintendo switch and can't make it turn on again
tried the "press power button for 15 secs then press it again" method and it didn't work no matter how long i press it.

i made a nand backup when it was on 7.0.1 FW and updated it to 8.0.1 two days later i just changed Retroarch UI driver and my switch turn off
I'm trying to restore the nand backup but all to tutorials indicate that im missing two files which are BOOT0 and BOOT1
all i have in my backup folder is the following:
8-letter folder, inside it two folders and a bin file
- a folder named "dumps" with two files in it "fuses.bin" and "tsec_keys.bin".
- a folder named "restore" and in it an empty folder named "partitions"
- a file named "rawnand.bin"
and that's it, can i restore nand and get my Switch into a working condition again?

Hello all, I followed the ReiNx-Guide from here:
/guide-starter-pack-reinx-installation-and-use.512342/
and I got stuck here:
  1. 7. After the splash screen vanishes and you see the Nintendo Switch logo, you can disconnect the Switch from your computer. You're in!
TegraRcmGUI (2.5) says:
"Uploading payload (mezzo size: 92, user size: 77762, total size: 143978, total padded size: 147456)...
Switched to high buffer
Smashing the stack!
Smashed the stack with a 0x7000 byte SETUP request!
Payload successfully injected
RCM device disconnected"
(more lines above that)
The image with the 2 anime girls appears for 0.5 seconds, then it's gone (no fadeout!).
The Switch does not react until I press Power for 15s.
I can't access .nro files, I think I'm still on stock firmware.
I'm on 8.0.0 with a Fat32 formatted SD card.
I used the most recent ReiNX.bin from here: reinx.guide/
Can anyone help?

I suggest you go ahead with kosmos. Refer sdsetup.com

I downloaded the .zip from sdsetup and injected Fusee_Atmosphere which seemed much more successfull. The switch did a thing and then booted. But I still can't do any new things. At this point I should find a or multiple of the .nro that I called from the downloaded .zip into the SD-card, right? I don't. :(
I then tried to inject other payloads from the payloads-folder, but none of those worked.
