We have already a custom bootloader ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
sure but that is not installed permanently on your console.

I might also be completely off and this is a reimplementation for the bootloader to be used by the emunand. Again, I have no clue

Not even with a warmboot exploit. You also have to trigger the exploit every time. So not permanently after a shutdown of the console :P

Unless you never turn off the console, just standby. Tada ... permanently

ah, yeah, that's not what the boot sysmodule is. That's just me working towards the "reimplement more FIRM sysmodules" meme.

In particular:

-Hexkyz worked on reimplementing boot a while ago but never finished it
-There's a thing for emunand that I'm well suited to work on that won't be relevant for a few days
-We talked, and agreed I'd clean up boot while he does other fusee work for emunand, then in a few days we'll swap and I'll do the emunand thing while he wraps up boot.

Slated for a few days? June 15 is just around the corner.

The recent pull request showed something about redirecting PRODINFO. I would love to have something like incognito inside atmosphere to use! Hopefully someone more in tune could clarify!

It’s kind of like incognito, but instead of writing to prodinfo to remove unique information it mitms the prodinfo partition to redirect all reads/writes to prodinfo to a copy on the SD card with all unique info removed (which is a much better and safer)

cue a certain person barging in with a list of dubious claims about why this method is terrible and why the relevant devs are bad people.

Theoricaly @XorTroll is adapting atmosphere to allow usb access but it has not been updated for more than a month.

Yes... but for now it's most like a "proof of concept" the implementation need improvements and cleanup, when this proof work fine, I think it's better do the final implementation on a pull request on atmosphere-nx repository if @SciresM allow it, only external hdd support for homebrew apps, no loaders or xci stuff.

The most part of the system should be on libnx I guess, I didn't do a complete check for now.
