What's the point of that though? They can find it themselves...

True. But don't you think it would be easier if you could just ask for something and get it instead of typing into google and trying to find it. It may be faster, but this is easier.

Not really. If you know what it's named it's easier to just put the name into Google and a couple of clicks later you'll have it downloaded.

Maybe. Hey could you help me setup my homebrew help discord. You seem like you've been into homebrew a while.

I think there are enough Discords for that already TBH. The GBAtemp Discord even has separate channels for each console that are commonly used for homebrew/hacking help, and there's also the Nintendo Homebrew Discord among others.

I would like to see a homebrew media player which can play music, photos and videos - all from an FTP server! If anyone makes this a truth, I would then like to see a nice GUI and both .3dsx and .cia support.

No need for homebrews when the built-in apps work just fine. Most sound formats work on the 3DS Sound app and most images work on the Camera one (although videos have to be formatted a bit more specifically and larger ones can't be expected to work even through homebrew players). As for the FTP part, just move the files to the SD card through FTP, then use the built-in apps for them.

But then that would be time consuming, since I'm not sure there are any FTP clients for 3DS (as in something which you can use to access other FTP servers). And once you get that, you would need to start it up (and the FTP server too), then copy the media files, then (optional) close the FTP server, close the FTP client then go to the built in applications. You get what I mean, time consuming.

FTPD exists which works with pretty much ANY client (eg: FileZilla) and is instant connection, so...

FTPD is a server not a client.
oh wait a minute, i just remembered you can move files both ways.
But it is still time consuming.
If FTP Media players are impossible, why not make a media player which can take an FTP file then store it on the SD card, then play from it directly?
By
which can take an FTP file
, I mean the 3ds itself can access other servers so you don't need to do any manual work between both the server and 3ds.

So you basically want a client (which is too much to ask for already as if it was that simple we'd have one instead of having to use FTPD), that can also play sound (possible) and video files (IMpossible)... Aren't you asking for too much all in one?:/

If you want to connect to your PC and stream stuff for it though, just use this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/pinbox-desktop-remote-streaming.493302/

No. I am asking for there to be an FTP client for 3DS that stores the files on the SD card then (optional) automatically jump to a media player or the built in 3ds ones to play the media files.

I suppose I'll check out the pinbox application as well

Here you can request homebrew for the Nintendo family for me to put on my github page. Here is my Github page...

BTW. I'm not here to create homebrew. But I will sometimes do this for you. I will only redo the original to work with the current version.
Hi! So I’ve been trying to get ports of old flash games, (Mario Crossover, Sonic Smash Bros, Super Smash Flash, Sonic RPG and, Mario Boss Rush.)
I don’t have the software capabilities to accomplish this so I was wondering if it would be possible.
