I'm currently on System Software Version 4.82
and...
I'm following this video:

My question is will this:
"Western Digital 4TB Black My Passport Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBYFT0040BBK-WESN"
be compatible to run games off of once I set up multi-man?

Largest size you can use for external is 2TB since PS3 doesn't support GPT, you can run ISO stored on the external via NTFS. You can look for larger drive but they need to be initialized already when you buy them, and formatted as MBR/NTFS, something like 5TB Seagate GoFlex.

I have a 1TB WD My Book I'll probably wind up using that. I just figured I'd ask thanks again @Hayato213 you've been a big help yet again!

Well figure out how much storage you need, ideal internal storage people recommend is 1TB, that is also what I have in mine, people said 1.5TB would give you plenty of problems, running games off multiman only ISO work, see if you like the idea of running ISO inside multiman first before buying a large drive, so I would say figure out how much storage you need, if you feel 1TB external isn't enough then upgraded.

I don't need a lot I don't have that many games but I know these are big blu-ray discs so they can be quite large I'm in the process of putting custom firmware on the system right now, just prepping with all the right files.

What is your current internal HDD size?

Why would I upgrade that? If I'm gonna have all the storage on my external?
Quick question can I take the games I downloaded off PSN and store them on my external once I set that whole thing up? @Hayato213

psn games on an eternal hdd? external, yes, but not all games work. games go in the gamei folder, which webman mod can select via game data tool.

I have only been using NoPayStation pretty much to get my games in PKG format, unless you find games in ISO format you can't run them off external.

Would I be able to run things already purchased off my internal hard drive? And just use the external for backing up my discs? @godreborn

@Hayato213 there's no way to rip the games onto your/my external HDD?

you can rip discs using the ps3. then, use the game's ird (found via google) to check if the game is complete.

I'm having trouble with the "Initialize exploitation button" on PS3 NOR Flash Memory Dumper v2.0.1 website loaded on my PS3 internet browser. It just hangs and freezes and I can't move I don't know what I'm doing wrong I deleted the Cookies, Search History, Cache and Authentication Information. Still hanging when I press the button on the browser. Please help @godreborn (any thoughts?) how about you @Hayato213 ?

- Edit I really don't wanna have to hard reset my PS3 it gives me the message that says it'll have to check for any corruptions.

Well everything turned out fine. I was using a PSP as my USB storage and it was just failing. After I plugged another USB stick in everything went smoothly. Funny how a PSP wouldn't do the trick it is SONY lol. But ahh whatever I got it all done after that little hiccup. Thanks for the input @Hayato213 and @godreborn I appreciate it. Looks like I CAN follow a video tutorial without help (or maybe I just run into teeny tiny problems and freak out anyway thanks!) I'm off to go to sleep now lol it's been an aggravating couple of hours lol
