Overview:
This will be a partially translation for Shining Force Feather for Nintendo DS. This is a fan-made patch so don't expect a professional translation here. And because I am alone doing it, I won't be doing a full translation. Sorry.
I am not like NicoBlogs and his shady blog, so this will be a xDelta patch, not the full rom but you can wait a few hours/days and look for it in his blog....

Thanks for your offer! BUT the problem is not the translation per se, I have many things translated already, but without a single byte encoding like ASCII, I can't do it. The game is encoded in Shift-JIS, and uses two byte per character!

So for example, the character name is Jin(three chars in ASCII = 3 bytes), which in japanese is ジン(two chars in Shift-JIS = 4 bytes), if I want to translate it I would use Ji(two chars in Shift-JIS = 4 bytes), because I have to use the same space as original!

If someone is willing to add ASCII support, the translation could SKYROCKET, and I could dump the scripts for translation!

I've started some work on that, need to get back on it though. I should at some point I guess.
the game will crash if you try to draw offscreen so, if you're testing a sentence too big you're gonna have a problem.

and NDS and PSP are both really easy systems, especially with the current emulator for them.

Hey mouse. I was successful with the patch, but drastic gives me the error that the rom is now encrypted. It will not load even with the arms7 bios. Any way to fix? Anyone else having this problem?

That is strange... Did you try DSEmuME? Because that is what I used to test it.

Confirmed that it works on desmu just fine. It does not work on drastic. My guess is drastic checks for an encryption were desmu does not. Anyway, translation is also confirmed for menu, skills, items etc and looks good.

Thanks for your comment! I don't think so, because I would need a team and time. My idea doing this was to make SFF a bit more popular so a team could pick it up and translate everything. Is not hard to do so, but I got Zero experiencie in ASM hacking.

But if anyone can contribute with the hacked fonts and single width, I will considerer making it better.
