If you do then you could buy a second hand switch now and then sell it on again if you want to buy one of the newer models.

If you don't really care then maybe wait, or don't buy either of them.

If you want hax asap then look for an older unpatched switch. If that's not a priority and you're not in a hurry then you could wait and see what the new models turn out to be.

I'm in the same situation. I'll be holding off until a new model is announced or until Xmas this year. Any longer than this year and I'll just bite the bullet and get what is out.

Im literally in the same situation as you OP. I saved up enough money from work and plan to buy another Switch for legitimacy play/Online. I guess we will have to wait till E3 for official answers.

I heavily doubt Nintendo will overlook a 2nd exploit as bad as the 1st. So I would presume any exploits for these newer models will be a long time coming.

Even if there is a decent exploit then it still took a year for fusee gelee to be released. But people were buying launch switches and didn't take them out of their box & some probably still haven't been used another year later.

Well, we have Nintendo Switch 3.0.0 with ChoiNX update to 6.2. It will be nice 2nd newer Nintendo release soon. However, it won't be jailbreak for sometime.. If you aren't patient then get Switch now and get newer one until it is hackable. Unless you can afford, that is. Since you are in Brazil. Brazil is a very expensive place for consoles, I see.

Yeah, but weren't there rumblings about the exploit in the very early days, just that no one had acted on it? I'm sure that's why people were stockpiling them.

wait until after E3, if nintendo doesnt announce any new models there there wont be one for quite some time.

With so many sources saying they're coming, I'd wait if you don't already have a Switch. The original model should drop in price after the new ones release, plus (if rumors are true) you'll have the option of a smaller, portable-only variant or a "Pro" variant. I doubt that'll be stationary-only, but they might make that unit a bit larger/thicker for the sake of better heat dispersion. I'd certainly buy that at a cost of ~$400, or perhaps even trade in my day one Switch to help pay for it. Especially if they improve the wifi chip in it at all.

I mostly heard the "get the lowest firmware as it has the most bugs". Which is probably still true for the new switch models, just less so compared to the original switch.

well for their sake I hope it is, PS5 is coming and that will steal a lot of their thunder

but I think the Switch mini should be the first thing we see first from big N got to grab that summer business and gadgets for the kids

Might be a better idea to release near the holidays

Although kids may have free time in the summer - they probably don't have much cash

I have kids 3 ,the idea is to target parents before they leave for vacations, road trips anything to keep your kids quiet during road trips

also looks like a lot of Nintendo games are hitting right before summer makes for a good time to target kids, I would not be shocked to see Pro either, people need to understand 5G is here and will be huge for the gaming industry and it will be mainstream and the big trend and will cause havoc for the big 3 amigos, so I see this as N needs to get their a$$ in gear and ride the wave before it crashes and more hands are involved
