Hi guys.I'm new to the Wii community and if there's a similar post I apologize.

So after alot of reading, downloading, trial and error I finally got homebrew channel iinstalled. I installed a few things to run backup games from a usb drive following some of the guides found here on GBA.Everything went well so far.

I have Homebrew, USB Loader GX forwarder and hopefully d2x 8 final installed following @Cyan advice.I read one of the threads where he asked a guy to run syscheck and let him know the results. So I also got syscheck and tried to run it just out of curiosity to see if everything is in the correct place.

But like always I run into problems.....I have tried sysCheck 2.1.0 b13, b15 and b19 and also Hacks Den Edition 2.4.0 and all of them gives me the following error - "Failed to get stored TMD size for IOS62".
This happens right after "sorting titles" is shown on screen.

I have a Wii with system 4.3E.Please can someone help me out.I know this is an old console and you guys probably don't work alot on these systems anymore but, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

To install IOS62, first you have to find a clean IOS62 wad (piracy links aren’t allowed to be posted here) (Google is your friend here), and install it using a tool like YAWMM mod by FIX94.

I forgot to mention I think I have the little newer model of Wii cause I had to install BootMii as IOS (unable to install as boot2).And I also installed Priiloader with it.

It is good that you installed Priiloader, and it is fine that you have one of the newer Wii’s, as long as you have Priiloader and BootMii as IOS. Very few differences between the two now.

Awesome thanks so much @FEF1 .I already have YAMMM, used it to install usb loader forwarder. So I just need the IOS62 wad.

Thanks so much mate.Well here goes the searching again. Is it possible to maybe find a corrupt IOS62 that can hurt my wii or will it not to do any damage if I get a corrupted IOS download by mistake?

You can find a corrupt IOS62 wad, but a certain cube made of mario has a good version of it (Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And it won’t hurt the Wii, as it isn’t a critical IOS, unlike IOS80/70

@FEF1 your a genius man...... godsent.God bless mate.

Can I ask 1 more thing I hope it's not against forum rules. So I got the cube do I get the ios firmware>retail>IOS62 or can I get the shopping channel wad?Cause I read the new shopping channel launched with IOS62.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Can I install any of those homebrew wads and it'll just like the .dol version?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

*work just like the wads?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Sorry the .dol*

1. Yes, all of the Wads on there are fine. I would recommend getting both IOS62 and the newest shopping channel, as the shopping channel most likely doesn’t have the IOS included with it.
2. Yes, but most are just forwarders that load the .dol. They would work just like the .dol versions do if they are not the forwarder.

So I just checked in to let you all know the problem is fixed.....syscheck now completes the scan but, why doesn't it save a report on my usb drive or sd card?

Once again thanks for all your help, much appreciated.

I have a few more questions that I want to ask but aren't sure if I can just ask them here or do I need to make a new thread?
It's regarding the sd card and usb drive......is there a way to make them both work at the same time?
Cause what happens now is, I have most of the homebrew apps on my usb and when the sd card + usb is in the wii and I start HBC it doesn't load anything cause the sd only have files for the letterbomb exploit on it.And when I remove the sd everything that's on the usb pops up in homebrew.

And thus my question of can I make both the sd and usb run at the same time?
So lets say I put a few apps on the sd card and others on the usb drive, is it possible that homebrew channel can read both and show me all the app on both these drives?

Another question is, FTPii keeps disconnecting when I try to connect to it from pc.Is there anothed app that can help me send files from my pc to Wii wirelessly?

- If I remember correctly to save the file it should show the button to do it
- In the homebrew channel press 1 (or 2) on your Wiimote to display the settings and choose to display the /apps/ folder from SD or USB.
- Im sorry never copied files wirelessly

Hello.:)

I use WiiXplorer.And on Pc FileZilla.Works great.
For copying Wii Apps/Covers/Cheats/WAD files etc.
It´s a little comfortablier than put the SD Card always in/out.And you have access to an attached USB HDD/Drive too. Please be careful also to the Wii´s NAND.

But please don´t try to copy an ISO or Video or something really great.
- the speed is too slow
- connection losts/time out issues are maybe the result.
EDIT: i´ve copied a 1.2 GB WBFS File from my PC to the attached Wii USB-Drive.It takes 24 min. with ~730 kb/sec.:yaynds:

Good luck.:)

Oh wow I feel a bit stupid asking some of those questions.....

Thanks so much guys your both amazing.Making my life so much easier.

Now I don't have to keep on removing the SD to get to the usb lol.And I dont have to keep swopping the usb from pc to wii and Wii to pc everytime I download a new app.

One more thing @alexander1970 why isn't WiiXplorer picking up my usb drive?
It only shows me the sd, nand and dvd drive.....is there something I'm missing again?
Sorry if I'm a bit dumb mate.

Thank you.:)

I remember i had this issue a long time ago.
It´s maybe coincidence that my flash drives work.

As our wise "Wii" professor @Cyan said: Don´t use Flash Drives/USB Pen Drives/USB Sticks etc. they don´t work properly !
I think thats an typical issue with them. Can you try an HDD ?
