As the title says, I need help running ps2 backups. I’m not trying to ask for a website. Multiman doesn’t seem to want to run the games, however it runs ps1 games just fine. I was trying to play Manhunt and that patched Jojo game but they both give me this screen when I load them. The console is also a slim.

I think as the PS2 is hard to emulate many different per game fixes need to be used via configs, so you need to link them with the specific game.
If you have an old fat PS3 with full PS2 hardware that needs no configs and you get the barely legible error you showed there is maybe something wrong with the device itself but as they were designed to overheat after regular use, there aren't many still around and you probably have a slim PS3.
Aldostools made a program to convert dumps of legally owned games to .enc and .pkg files where you can specify the correct config for each game, there is also a wiki page for it.
I recently read that the latest webman mod can also load the config on the fly for your inserted PS2 disc so that is easier than patching every game.

Okay I'll try that, thank you.

Config files (as commonly intended) indeed only apply to software emulation (ps2_netemu), which doesn't support physical discs (and only supports single-file bin & iso backups from hdd0/PS2ISO/ if you have a Cobra cfw, else only pre-encrypted PS2 Classics)

You tried with a known compatible game (list available on ps3devwiki), did you?

Could you send a link to it? I cant seem to find the link for ps2 games, only the ones for ps3. Also I was using manhunt so I don't know if it's compatible or not. I'm on Ferrox Cobra 4.84, and it's on a slim console Cech-2001A

So I installed the application from psn, with a throwaway account. But it still gives me a black screen. I'm wanting to play Manhunt, and it says playable, but it still won't work
That would mean a problem with your console, its operating system - or your display...

Did you get a PS2 saves folder in the XMB after running it? (which would demonstrate it at least tried to start)
Can you reconnect the controller while the game is allegedly running? (which would demonstrate it is)
Try meddling with the upscaler option in game settings, or reinstalling the CFW (possibly a different one)

I've tried with two cfws.
There is no save data, except for a corrupt ps2 memory card.
And I can turn on my remote.
I can't access anything when I turn my controller on, I have to unplug the ps3 manually.

I turned off the upscale options but it still leaves me on a black screen.
