Purchased a used switch for hacking and it was previously child owned, so the rubber from the analog sticks is missing. Analog stick caps like those typically purchased at amazon wont work, as they conform to the shape of the existing analog rubber on the joystick itself, which is the part thats missing, so only the hard plastic of the stick is left.

Ive already ordered replacement sticks as im replacing the entire shells anyway, but i was curious if the rubber from the analog sticks are purchasable somewhere? I'd like to keep them as backups just in case (I opened up the analog stick component itself and was able to clean and fix the drifting issue the original seller had)

As I mentioned, simple analog stick caps will not work. They depend on the existing analog stick rubber to already be there, which is missing. This makes the caps loose and thus useless in this case.

As I've mentioned, i already have analog stick component replacements on their way. I was asking if i could just buy the rubber part from the component to put on my existing sticks as backups.

Don't. Only use official Nintendo joysticks. I know a bunch of people on here shit on them, but they are MUCH better quality than these 3rd party replacements, regardless of what any random person on here says. Unless you don't mind replacing them every 3 months, then get the cheap $2 parts.
He can always remove the rubber cap from the 3rd party stick and stick it on the original one.

Probably easier if you just replace the whole analog stick, as @g00s3y recommended it is better if you go for genuine parts, can always go for either an entire broken joycon for parts, or someone that is selling that as part.
