Please know that this is not a complaint. If my site was misbehaving, I'd want someone to tell me.

You might want to find yet another host. Microsoft SmartScreen has 000webhostapp dot com flagged as unsafe:

(I had a screenshot, but I'm too new to post images. Just open in IE or Edge and you'll see it.)

The usage tab still does strange things (in multiple browsers.) When I click on it, the usage page comes up, but then it redirects to multiple fishy sites (again, I'd post links if it'd let me.) Which is the same behavior that zzl dot org was displaying.

The brick repair tab goes to a zzl dot org site which does a lot of the same kind of undesirable redirecting.

When the ModMii installer come up with 22 detections in virustotal dot com and then I saw all these issues I had a hard time trusting the ModMii downloads. I opened it up (from the zip file) in a VM to be sure, but most casual people that do and could benefit from your software won't know to do that.

I wonder if the site has been pwned.

I have modded several Wii's with the help of your software and I very much appreciate your efforts to help us out.

Issues with the installer re virustotal are all false positives. You can even grab just the zip bundle from sourceforge and avoid the installer entirely if you want.

The zzl brick repair link is busted, but what's really weird is the 000 usage page redirects.... No other 000 page does this so I'm not sure why it's impacting just this one page, so I think you might be right, time to find new hosting. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. But please let me reassure you the issues are limited to the website, the application itself is safe.

oh... I know it's fine. Like I said, I tested it out in a VM just to be safe (both zip and exe.) It would probably be a good idea to put a small blurb on the OP that the files on SourceForge are known to throw false positives with Anti-Virus utilities.

I'll post a comment on the VirusTotal results that they are all false positives. People might not believe me though. =)

I have heard good things about SquareSpace, Wix, and the HOSTED version of WordPress. I think their basic sites without e-commerce are pretty reasonably priced. I don't have any first-hand experience with them. That's just what I have heard.

I asked this in a PM to XFlak since we was taking this week and felt afterwards it's not fair on just me benefiting from the answers. So if he kindly answers it then it may help benefit others reading this. So here goes.

Let's say I have made a complete NUS ALL download and I got all my files now via ModMii all offline and inside the Temp folder for the future. From what you've mentioned and others it seems as long as these offline AIO from NUS is inside the "TEMP" folder of ModMii then in the future when the NUS gets turned off/disabled we will still be good to go since when building packages it will check if the files exist before attempting to go online. So this is awesome for future proofing package building of all kinds. But here's my questions since I want to get this right the first time. No good messing it up then in the future finding out I was wrong lol then it's too late since the servers will be offline.

When it's downloaded all these files to the "TEMP" folder it's also put a ton of folders/files inside "COPY_TO_SD" this is the part i'm now confused.
Can I delete all these files from "COPY_TO_SD" ? Since it's only going to check the "TEMP" folder for all future files? Or, are these "COPY_TO_SD" files now needed?

Reason I'm asking is building a package with everything offline in the future it's going to create it's own "COPY_TO_SD" folder depending on which future package I create, but if these files are already pre-populated from the NUS AIO Download won't they just cause conflicts with the newer built packages?

For example: 5 months from now decide to build a package or some kind and have every file from NUS in temp from months ago. If I left these existing files in "COPY_TO_SD" that it just made now... Wouldn't this just complicate the build package later whenever I come to do something months from now? Or are these files mandatory that it's just created inside "COPY_TO_SD"

And will this only work in the future with the blue CMD method of compiling various builds, or will the classic 32bitGUIversion check the same locations as the CMD blue screen version?

You need to get with infinityfree they are a free superior hosting package unlimited bandwidth/hosting/traffic/mysql + all the usual CPanel You can have 3 domains/sites on a free package. They are free for ever as well no expire and they unlike that god awful 000 company don't just pull down your site without any warning. If something is wrong they tell you and give you time to fix it.

000 is the worlds worst hosting provider ever to grace the internet.

Success, the website is all fixed up. I really appreciate the reports that prompted me to investigate this, have a peek and let me know if your redirects have disappeared.

I didn't have to change hosting services after all. The usage page had a reference to the zzl site still in it and it was causing problems. I also removed the Brick Repair button that was redirecting to zymic. And here's the cool thing, I took a moment to finally put some effort into the Usage page. You might say I was creatively inspired by an intoxicant or two on this quiet (and rare) Friday night and decided to polish the website a bit and time got away from me!

Check out the slightly new and improved ModMii Usage page here.
It used to be pretty bare, but now I actually put a bit of effort into it and tried to answer a little bit more of the 'why' modmii does things instead of the 'what'.

Can I delete all these files from "COPY_TO_SD" ? Since it's only going to check the "TEMP" folder for all future files? Or, are these "COPY_TO_SD" files now needed?
Yup. See pics!!

Every time I personally use modmii for something I start with a brand new COPY_TO_SD folder. If you have a complete ModMii temp folder it can operate entirely offline without internet.

And will this only work in the future with the blue CMD method of compiling various builds, or will the classic 32bitGUIversion check the same locations as the CMD blue screen version?
Short answer, the same temp folder supports both ModMii Classic (i.e. blue console window) and ModMii Skin (i.e. the GUI).

This Q is indirectly answered in the ModMii Command Line Usage section of the Usage page, go read it, read it now. It's calling to you, go *jedi mind trick*

Filetrip is shutting down. If you encounter a filetrip's deadlink from one of my files, I can repost it. All my guides' pictures will be reuploaded when I'll have time.
Shit, I just saw @Cyan's signature, ModMii might be broke temporarily, and ironically not from a lack of access to IOSs. I'll get around to investigating and updating ModMii's links to wherever the files are hosted now. We'll see if I might be able to fix it without an update but no promises. Definitely not tonight @ 1am and this weekend is nuts. But it's on my list. I got a love hate relationship with ModMii I tell you, we've been together a looong time.

I'm glad my signature helped.
I made it big enough, and before filetrip really closed so users will notice.
it's closing March's 31th :(

It's too bad because I have a lot of files used for my guides and personal files.
it looks like the reason is "filetrip files has been copied to Download center", but not all files are meant to be public or console's related.
I'll have to look into a new host with direct file access to link pictures for my guides (no link delay or redirect page, like dropbox or google or lot of other hosters unfortunately). it was easy to upload/download/share, we could even use ftp to upload.
I have my own server, but no easy upload service on it. I could use NAS too, but might not be always online.

I would love if files were not deleted, just close upload features. but I suppose the reason is to close servers and stop renewing them.

I honestly have no idea how I missed that. Unlike me not to read and re-read and read something again. Loving the new ModMii page as well.
Glad you finally got some time to work on the pages :) As for your love hate relationship with ModMii if option 1 of NUS ALL and the app works offline with EVERYTHING I don't have a hate relationship at all with it... I'd take it to dinner buy it a bottle of wine dine it then take it home and make sweet love too it lol

ModMii v6.5.1 Released!
ModMii v6.5.1 Changelog:
  • Updated the ModMii Installer. It does a better job of avoiding false-positive antivirus alerts. It also now includes an Uninstaller.
  • Updated download links in response to pending filetrip shutdown.
  • Other minor changes.

This next part isn't part of the changelog but wanted to hear some opinions. The way the Uninstaller currently works is that it will uninstall ModMii but it will leave the ModMii temp folder behind. I can change this so that it deletes the temp folder, but given that these files are worth their weight in gold I thought it better to leave it alone. @DeadlyFoez, if it wasn't almost 4am I'd call you right now for your opinion, lol!

Any thoughts on whether the ModMii Uninstaller should remove or retain the modmii "temp" folder?

If someone is wanting to get rid of ModMii, I'd say get rid of it all. The temp folder to could take up to 2 gigs and if they are uninstalling, space could be a reason.

You could also give them the option to remove it or not in the uninstaller itself (just a simple checkbox.) That's probably the route I'd go if it were me.

Hi, I've found two issues with v6.5.1.

When setting up USB Loaders and related folders to the USB Drive, it all go to the SD card instead.
And File cleanup deletes files and folders from the copy_to_sd folder instead of from the SD card.

Another thing I want to note (not quite an issue) is that 6.5.1 downloads outdated homebrew apps (I found that with priiloader at least), and the download sections via the classic command based ModMii also have outdated/deprecated apps available for download. Anyway, besides that, ModMii was great to fix my previously poorly softmodded wii, but it's important to fix things in it, especially to help less experienced users with using it. Good work with it nonetheless and thanks much, it was a life saver for my wii.

On another note, I have a weird issue with internet channel where I can't type anything in it, opening a dictionary and other things crash it, making it unusable, and ModMii didn't fix that (maybe the shop download had something that just the wad doesn't) and photo channel 1.1 doesn't show up in the Wii menu (but does in USB Loader GX), unless a dummy wad that comes with the shop download is installed, which makes it appear in data management, but I wanted to restore it the way it originally was in my wii, appearing in the wii menu, but not in Data Management. I may have more system channels which such problems, where a channel wad alone may not be enough to operate channels properly, but afaik it's just those two and Nintendo Channel with Riiconnect24, though that is another story.

Newer doesn't always mean better, the versions of things used by ModMii are all stable.

Depending on your responses to different questions, modmii will save usb loader files to sd and/or USB.

File cleanup and all function of ModMii allow you to change the copy_to_sd directory. It prompts you to select you sd card drive letter. If you do that, then the file clean up and other functions will work exactly in the directory you've specified

That is an odd issue you're having with the internet channel.

Ok, so I wanna know another thing: Are the channels that can be installed (native, internet and wiispeak channels) all in their latest official versions?

Also, the thing with everything saving on SD happens when I choose to not format/already have fat32/wbfs, where it then asks where to save the sd stuff, then usb stuff.

By the way, what is the ios36 that appears outside the WAD folder for? there is one inside it too, which is a later version.

Those channels are the latest but support for them at this stage varies. I don't recall the specifics but Nintendo starting shutting down some features.

I'm not concerned about sd/usb saving, that behaviour is based on your responses. Answer differently and ModMii will behave differently.

The older IOS36 saved outside the wad folder is used by the IOS236 installer. The newer IOS36 is what you install during the install wads step to make sure u have latest version installed to slot 36
