Incognito

incognito
Wipes personal information from your Nintendo Switch by removing it from prodinfo.

purpose
a) So your switch can go online without worrying about a ban or using random dogdy DNS servers that are also likely to get you banned.

b) so malicious homebrew applications cannot steal your personal certificate.

disclaimer
Always have a nand backup. I am not responsible for any bricks or bans. Use at your own risk, experimental.

This application backs up your prodinfo to the SD root, you should keep this backup in a more secure location, and not leave it on the SD card where malicious applications can read it.

edit: atmosphere blocks writes to CAL0, so you must use ReiNX or SX OS to install this. Once installed, you can switch back to atmosphere.

So this change your serial? But how you go online with a fake serial? That would lead to a ban I think

How does this work? What personal information is stored in prodinfo exactly? I thought it was just factory preset keys/certs/whatever.

So it's like a savestate where we can restore from to go back online if we get banned or no?
No, Its to avoid getting banned in a sense. Youll have internet access for homebrew/etc but will be unable to connect to nin servers. They cannot ban your console for this due to all you console information being invalid (device id, serial, cert). If you choose to want to gain access to nin again then restore you prod. Its basically 90dns but more reliable in the sense that if nin adds more ips or telemetry then you wont need to rely on the dns server adding these before you connect to these without knowledge of it.

Gotcha, thank you!

This is great! I could never get 90dns to work in the first place. This should be obvious but just making sure, since this blocks any Nintendo online services I won't get that annoying update message everytime I start a game, right?

havent tested that, but I am 90% sure it will stop that.

I should also probably clarify, this does not work on atmosphere. Atmosphere blocks writes to CAL0, this only works on ReiNX and SX OS.

I just saw this haha, but it should work just fine if I boot into ReiNX, do it, then go back to using Atmosphere right?

The difference is, when you ban yourself with this method, you have the ability to unban yourself later. if Nintendo bans you, its permanent.
But if you need this to ban yourself, you're merely delaying the inevitable as if you weren't that confident Nintendo would ban you, you can actually take advantage of Nintendo's online services risking a ban that may or may never come.
