Has anyone figured out a way of getting SM64 Last Impact working? It just black screens after the initial title screen. I had some luck running it on the PC version of Mupen64 Plus, (not Next) savestaing then transferring the savestate over to the Switch but it still doesn't work correctly, the sounds all messed up and as soon as you go through a door it black screens again.

The game looks really interesting too. Definitely one of the best rom hacks I've seen.

Raphnet posted on Facebook that the newest mupen64 build is compatible with his USB to N64 adapters.

Would that include the build linked to here too?

Well, if it is, I can't figure out how to get it to recognize the controller. :(

Edit: Seems like this is only for something called mupen64 FZ. Any way this can be added in the future, m4xw?

If it wasn't for me being so worried about getting banned, I'd be using something other than EmuNAND via SX OS so I can try out these great pieces of homebrew. I kinda do already, but I can't take advantage of these more recent advancements.

Almost the same as you but I don't care about being banned but I use SX OS only for the external hard drive support. First payload I used was Hekate before I got SX OS, but now I don't really want to go back to it unless I can chainload it with SX OS.

I set up RetroArch last night and I'm having a few issues. I'm on 6.2.0, using Kosmos' version of Atmosphere 0.8.1 and app-redirect for the HBL (over Pokemon Quest)

1. Less than half of my SNES games load into my "Collection" (all .smc format, no weird characters in titles) and none of my PS1 games show up (one single .bin, two .bin/.cue, one .img/.sub/.ccd - all play fine)

2. I can't get the PS1 emu to recognize the bios file. I tried one and it didn't work, then read here somewhere to use a PSP bios and rename it to SCPH550X.bin and it'll work better than a PS1 bios in RA. I see in Information/Core Information/ it lists the md5 checksums it's looking for for the three regions' bios files. Is the PSP bios thing I read BS? Is PCSX ReARMed looking for those checksums specifically?

3. N64 emu is worse than when I was using the beta release of 1.7.5 with overclocking. Takes even longer to load and everything chugs, even with 1.5ghz overclocking. Under Options/CPU Core it shows that it's using the dynarec. Using the same SD card and everything.

Edit: set N64 core to cached_interpreter and it runs the same as pre-dynarec. Maybe I'm using incompatible roms?

4. How do I turn off Shaders? I was trying out different CRT filters but I want to go back to using none. I don't see an option for that anywhere.

I figured out the Playstation bios issue. I downloaded the proper scph550X.bin files (correct md5s) and they go in /retroarch/cores. DO NOT put them in /retroarch/cores/system.

Looks like the adapter acts as a HID controller, designed for computers. You probably won't be able to use it on Switch (for mupen or anything else) until we get a general solution to use HID usb controllers with Switch (this would be a custom sysmodule or some other kind of system patch), which is likely to happen eventually, but not much can be done from Retroarch's end until then.

What? Sure about that? Can you look into RetroArch -> Settings -> Directory settings? Where is your system folder setting pointing to?
Normally (almost) all BIOS files would go to the system directory, except neogeo.zip.

Just played Mickey's Speedway USA and a few other games and they run so good now! It's like a dream being able to play ur N64 games on the switch.

Thank you for your time and effort m4xw… Much appreciated!

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.
