So yeah, wouldn't be AMAZING if there was a Homebrew app to transmit the Switch display to your Notebook screen?

I mean here is the thing, the Switch is great and all, but to me playing on handheld is way too uncomfortable, so tabletop is ideal, but the problem is that sure on paper, tabletop seems pretty awesome. Until you actually use it and realize that the Switch screen is simply way too small!

And who doesn't have a laptop lying around with sometimes awesome screens (yet lousy GPU's). I use my laptop on a special table in my bed, it would be incredible to have the Switch right next to it, but displaying the image on the laptop!

This could be used in so many ways for so many different people, people who get their Switches to university, highschool, work, etc. And most people have laptops that they could just place on a small table and connect it to the Switch and boom, you have the most awesome tabletop, portable experience.

And not only for laptops mind you, but it also could work for tablets (which also sometimes have really nice screens) that go wasted with such beautiful panels, it would not be wasted when playing awesome looking Nintendo games! :)

So yeah, what do you guys think? Is there already something like this being worked on? I mean, it was one of the first things that crossed my mind, like the most awesome possible thing for the Switch.

Well, just let me know any of your thoughts ;) Thank you all, and I hope you are all doing great.

Your post doesn't change that for now is impossible to make something useful. If someone will made it today, it will eat most of CPU resources and forget about playing.

I am just asking if something like this exist! Of course my post won't change that :wtf: (at least not right now).

Communication is a good thing, it is also a way to let homebrew developers now that this could be an awesome thing to implement.

Maybe using UBS 3.0 or something like that besides Wifi. It was possible on the 3DS and I don't see why it couldn't be possible on the Switch by overclocking the CPU a little maybe.

Well, thank you guys for letting me know that this is not in the works :)

Cheers to all.

The switch allready have a display port out,why would you want a wonky downgrade?

Because not everyone has 50 inch TV's in every bedroom of every house. I don't have one in my bedroom, only in my living room, don't have the space or the money to do it.

Besides what I am asking or suggesting, is for the portable aspect of it all. You cannot take your 50 inch TV to the University and then plug your Switch in it in the hall, can you?

But a laptop works in any place and in any situation, it is portable, just as the Switch is, THAT is the point.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Get a capture card, put your dock in a smaller case, then plug it all in.

Too expensive, beats the purpose also because apart from being expensive you are going to have your laptop, then a capture card, then the Switch, the dock and then all the wires to charge and connect all these devices between each other, etc, etc. Beats the purpose in every level

No offense but really, if you have nothing to contribute, then don't post. I already explained in my last post once again why I am suggesting such homebrew.
To be fair you can get docks that are super small now

You can even get after market cases for your dock that are much smaller in size

Sasori, but... I am not talking about docks. Don't you guys read? I am simply suggesting a homebrew to be able to stream the Switch to a Notebook/Tablet screen for the portability of it and the bigger, better screens.

Remember, you CANNOT connect your Switch to your Tablet or Notebook, because none of those have HDMI input!

Like Iwata once said: "Please understand"

Yeah, they used to have them for the original gameboy. They work, but it's a cheap gimick. Might be good for the elderly :D

Thanks for the happy moment Snake, have an awesome day. By the way, a small question, do you know if you have to use the JIG again when "accidentally" updating your Switch? I had an SX OS and decided to upgrade to 6.2 and my luck was so bad that in that same hour Nintendo was starting to update to 7.0. My Switch lasted hardly a week modded... crap :)

I've heard that 7.0 has been hacked, https://nintendosoup.com/nintendo-switch-version-7-0-0-completely-hacked-in-under-4-hours/
but not sure if there are available payloads yet.
Probably not far away though...

Yes, I was reading in this forum about that, it happened very fast. But I think that there are other things that need to be done in order for the custom firmware to be usable to the every day person. Too confusing for me! I am keeping the Switch though, i've invested a lot on it so I'll keep it!

Imagine I bought the Pro controller for about 85 dollars in my country, in it was on sale!! It costs about 110 USD :)

What I also bought and recommend, is the Gbros adapter (8bitdo), I got it, and it's awesome, you can use the Wii Classic controllers and Gamecube controllers wirelessly, and there is no lag! Works on PC too. Best Dpad ever, over and out Snake ;)

Guys please read :( How could you do that? If Notebooks/Tablets do not come with HDMI in? Even if you could transmit the Switch through wireless HDMI, you could only do so to a TV/Monitor with HDMI input.

Honestly, are you guys mocking me? :)
