Hi,

The title says it all.

I want to merge some XCI/NSP without running lockpick on my switch to generate that key file.

Is there any way to do it ?

Thx !

You need keys in order to decrypt and unpack those file-types with hactool and many derivative applications.

You will need to run lockpick or acquire the keys through some other means if you're looking to merge XCIs and/or NSPs.

Thx this answers a part of my question.

So basically if i understand you well you can acquire that key file by some others means ?
I deduce that key file is not console specific isn' it ?
So if i ask someone it's key file it will work ?

The "other means" I'm talking about is finding a paste of the keys online, since the only other way to get them is through kezplez/Lockpick.
And yes, the keys you need to decrypt and unpack NSPs and XCIs are not console specific to my knowledge.

I never used that key file for merge them. I just get NSP file and use tinfoil usb install without a key file and I am good to go. I dont understand why you use that.

use NSC builder.

get the keys from google, just type : switch keys.txt download

* no need lockpick *

because using custom (merged xci + update + dlc) in 1 file is more convenient, just copy paste to your flash drive then plug it in switch dock and play...
( no risk to get sysnand / microsd get coruppted because install / uninstalling nsp)

Yeah, I understand that but I am against custom for the reason. I prefer xci/nsp, update, and dlc separately and installed them more easy and less hassle. No key needed. I am happy with that.

Thanks everyone for the answers.

The main Reason i Don't want to run lockpick is i do not want to run any homebrew on my switch to minimise the risk of bans ( and actually for now it works…)

I only use XCI on my emunand and do not want to install any NSP as well.

Then use lockpick on the “emunand” :thonk:
