So twice now I have gotten corrupted save data on two games. Is there a way to fix it? Im using a 128gb card and really hate to wipe the whole card and transfer/reinstall everything because of 2 games.

UPDATE: After reformatting Im having a problem installing some NSPs...."An Error occurred...hold down power for 12 seconds....blahblahblah"

So what is causing this?

And one of the icons is a blank with the loading circle and I cant start it or delete it or anything.

OK Im about to do this but have 2 more questions.

1 - What about the legit games from the eshop?

2- Where are my saves?

Bonus 3rd question....

What about my SXOS license?

did you buy a sd card from amazon?

Nope from a brick and mortar Wal-Mart.

I guess I should mention that last night it happened to a game that I never played....how does a game have a corrupted save when its never been launched?

Any answers before I start reformatting?

So my PCs card reader must be dying. I tried it on a laptop and it worked and i even ran the error checking and it found no errors.

And for the person asking where i bought the card, well i thought it was wal-mart but i checked my amazon orders and thats where i got it from.....

Before you start deleting stuff might wanna make a backup of the files on the root of the SD card just incase.

  • Fat32 - Use guiformat, default allocation size
  • Saves are stored on the console not the sd card
  • Use usb install to transfer games over 4gb to your sd card, this is done with tinfoil or goldleaf

Depends on if you installed to sd or nand when you downloaded them

see above for saves

backup your license file, worst case you can regenerate it

Windows error checking doesn't check for fake microsd, use tools like h2testw to check

I dont think its fake....Ive used around 90gb and if I remember correctly said it had 119gb capacity. But I will check with h2testw when I have time.

It won't hurt :)

Also in terms of SXOS, i double checked what info I had

Here's how to fix your license for SXOS
  • Back up your license.dat from your SD Card to your computer in a safe location
  • Delete your license.dat from your sd card.
  • Launch SX OS, it was ask if you want to make a new request file. Say yes.
  • Goto their page, upload the request file and use the code you already used.
  • Download your new license file

Basically it's like you're activating SXOS for the first time.

Finally ran H2testw and it didnt find any errors but I dont see where it says if the card is real/fake.
