Gaming Modded 3DS

Hello GBAtemp! I have a little question... I want to buy a modded new 3ds/old 3ds but I have a question. Can I play multiplayer (download-play or not) with my friends if they don't have modded consoles with their games? Or , I have downloaded modded games can I play with them if they have unmodded consoles (I mean , if I'm the only one who has that game). Thanks , and I hope you will understand what I said )

You can still play unmodded multiplayer games with a modded console. I don't know for sure about playing online with ROMs you've downloaded, but any games you've purchased yourself from eShop or Cart should play multiplayer just fine.

For games you have modded, they may not work with unmodded versions. For example, trying to play Smash with my friend while I had a mod enabled allowed us to connect but ended up in the game desyncing before we even got out of the practice room and not launching to the fight. Something like Mario Kart 7 can work if you download play with your friends, as that sends them the custom tracks as well.
