I got yesterday a new new 2ds xl, I CFW it and today I discovered if I press the ZL button my complete ds shuts down/chrashes

does anyone discoveries this phenomen to? is this a hardware or software problem?

Edit: the problem is the small ribbon cable besides the LZ button in the inside of the ds.
if you have the same problem use some ducktape or any other strong tape to push the ribbon cable connector down.
(if you put the ds back together Whatch out for the volume slider, if you push to hard you can brake it!!! happend to me....)

-Solved

Turn on the n2DSXL and hold (Start) to access GodMode9 and (Select) for Luma3DS v9.1 configuration. Press ZL and see if yours crashes in those, too.

it's a hardware problem, inside of the 2ds there is a ribbon cable on the same site like the LZ button.
if you touch/move this cable a bit it turns the ds off, I fixed it with a bit of duck tape

I just wonder why this specific small ribbon cable does not have something to clip it in like all other ribbon cables

It does have a clip on the end. A "lego" connector.

I have exactly the same problem, I noticed it also shorts if I press slightly on the top left corner of the console.

How exactly did you put the tape?
Did you put it accross the ribbon, sticking it on both side to the PCB?
Doing this way I noted the console doesn't boot at all, probably it gets shorted during startup.
I tried putting some tape over the connector instead, which I flipped open while making my hardmod (do NOT do that on these ribbons in your N2DSXL if you haven't already!).
It seemed a bit better but during reassembly the back hinge must have put some pressure and the short-circuit still happens.

Next I'm going to try better tape and closer to the connector.
Thanks for the tips in this thread anyway.

EDIT: I could get it to hold well and reassemble the console, no more shorts with ZL or pressing the top left corner.
As I said, I wrongly opened the piece that holds the ribbon in place and I think it makes fixing it more difficult.
I ended up using both duct tape and a tiny piece of thin plastic on top of the connector and blutack *under* the ribbon, to force it to stick close to the connector.
