Hi,

My Super Mario Odyssey cart just died on me. Can't be read 90% of the time and other times it fails in-game and throws me out. Anyone else having issues with poor build quality of game carts? All my carts (7) sounds like maracas. Supposed to be like this?

Well, on to my primary question. If I would "come across" a backup of Super Mario Odyssey that maybe wasn't dumped from my actual game cart, what are the chances that my existing saves would be picked up by this? Does the version have to match in region, revision, physical/digital and so on?

Running ReiNX 1.7.1 btw, if that matters somehow.

TIA
Cheers,

Base game is same across all continents but if your save file was made after updates were installed, those will have to match the region of your original cartridge.

I disagree your save file for any Game remains on the switch and you can always retrieve it regardless of version

Thank you for your answers!

You seem to have different views on this.

Basically, I want to ensure that I can pick up from where I left off. What would be the route to take?

Cheers,

Edit; Also, the game was bought in Asia (English) but I live in Europe. What if I bought a new cartridge In Europe, would saves be picked up? Where on the game pack can I read what region it is?
