Hacking DEAD [Shutdown]DragonInjector - Game Cart Payload Injector (Trinket M0 Clone)

This injector fits inside your Switch's cart slot, but does not at all interact with it. For example, when buying blank, burnable CDs or DVDs, the stack comes with 1 or 2 clear discs (not a CD or DVD. Just a clear, round, plate/disc of plastic). If you put that clear disc into your drive, your PC will still register your drive as empty. Yes, the clear disc is the same size and shape as a CD/DVD (just as this injector is the same size and shape as a Switch cart), but it's not a CD/DVD (and this injector is not a Switch cart).

So, no. There is, currently, no possible way for this injector to effect/update/modify/damage your cartridge slot. Later revisions of this injector, down the road, might, one day, pull current/power from the cart slot, but that's a long way off, and a big if. The most recent versions of this injector don't even use the metal contacts of the cartridge/game pak at all. They're just there for asthetic purposes (in other words, the additional [and not connected] metal contact points are there just to make it look pretty). Mouser X over and out.

There's a Discord server where he posts regular updates, the invite is posted here from time to time. It is not finished yet, but he's very close to finishing the ones he intends to send to testers, and soon after that he'll make it available for the rest of us to buy

Very great project and the pcb‘s looks good I‘m really looking forware to the response of the beta-Testers (read it to late otherwise i would have applied to be a tester ).

One question: When it‘s finished could you please release the file with the psb design and the files for a 3D Printer so i can print my own shell? Because then i could make my own PCB and shell (have access to all which is needed to make own pcb‘s. Would be really great! If you don‘t want to publish it for all users it would be great if you could send it to me via PN

It has taken a lot longer than I think the OP expected, but he's doing an absolutely amazing job in my opinion and I can't wait to see the final result! I look forward to ordering one as soon as they're available.

Sorry for the lack of updates again, been busy busy busy with work and the holidays.

I'll post a big update soon with more details, but for now, please enjoy this video of the first ever 100% working DragonInjector prototype.



What does this mean?

- No more worries about project completion. (Yay!)
- No more revisions. (Double yay!)
- Tester units shipped before the end of the month. (All of the yays!)

Some quick notes for those who don't follow the Discord:

- The DI will be offered in Black and Translucent Green at launch.
- The DI will be offered with a choice of two supported firmwares:
- - - - Mattytrog's excellent ATSAMD21 firmware which makes use of the buttons for payload selection.
- - - - Guillem96's excellent ArgonNX firmware which launches a fancy touch GUI on the Switch for selecting your payload.
- The design of the RCM jig has been updated slightly to make it safer to use, with a little bump to keep it in place better. (See renders below!)

Since this is an open source project (CC BY-SA 4.0) upon completion all source files will be released on my github for free, including the Gerbers, BOM, firmware forks and .STEP files of the case.
