I'm not sure. But maybe the cause is that Hard Disks bigger than 2TB can't have a MBR partition table, they need a GPT partition table. Maybe the Switch doesn't recognize GPT.
You can do a MBR partitioning, but you will lose 6 of your 8 TB. Not a good idea.

Is it really necessary to have that much space? You got the entire CDN within your hard drive.

Anyway...if it doesn't work, best to ask TX for a recommendation

The trouble with having huge hdd’s like 8tb the more content you have rammed on their the slower it will load don’t expect to have 100+ xci files and load as quick as sd, it won’t I stuck with a minimum of 2tb seems to work just nicely.

Do you just put them all on the route of your sd card or in folders? The xci menu certainly does not load as fast as it would on sd card, it’s not really noticeable unless you get your stop watch out but it is a tad slower. Also occasionally if you click on one of the games to quickly while the menus loading it doesn’t load the game properly to the switch main menu. I’m using this on my switch handheld I’m not sure if it’s different loading usb with the dock I have never tried it?

anyway to flip them ? make the exfat a primary ?

You have to reformat.

EaseUS patition manager will allow you to specify logical or primary if you are on windows. The built-in formatting tool in windows will not.

I'm not sure why OP hasn't responded but I'm 99% positive that's his issue.

i have the 4tb and 6tb version of that drive and both of them work on the switch, all i did was format them to exfat in windows 10 using EaseUS Partition Master, both work fine.

wd software will format up to wd drives up to 8tb as fat32 using max cluster size. that is always the best setup for ninty consoles (wiiu at least) and no doubt switch if you’re happy using split naps.
seagates use some emulation tech physical/logical sector size swizzle and stuff which gets complex
i went thru all this palaver on the wiiu a while back with seagates causing no end of pain.
in the end get a wd my book 8tb and yr golden

edit.
this is what i recommend.

https://www.amazon.com/Book-Desktop...qid=1545501730&sr=1-1&keywords=wd+my+book+8tb

i use them for ps4 and wiiu flawlessly.
sure switch would be the same

>2TB drives can support MBR with the right case... I have a 5TB Samsung and Maxtor D3 Station drives that work fine with MBR and work on the switch.

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

If you can find enough for it

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
