Hardware How to make sure that your PC has no problem recognizing your Switch?

Wanted to use RCM, but it didn't recognize my Switch. How to make sure that my cable is not broken etc.
Is there any way to check it?

What happens when you connect an Original Firmware turned-on Nintendo Switch? Will anything happen?

Maybe try it at another PC. I am not able to detect my Switch at my PC but at my Laptop it works.

What happens NORMALY when you connect a Switch that is not hacked/modified? Does anything happen? Does it start to charge?

I want to know if anything happens so that I can later make sure that it’s not because of my cable..
