I have a new 2DS XL and have a problem at section IV. When I start Steel Diver i get a black screen. Nothing happens. Can someone help me?

I have found the mistake. At the payload generator I choosed the wrong version, OLD instead NEW.

Q: How is this different from Seedminer?
A: It uses homebrew to inject a new dsiwarehax game (Flipnote Studio) into a DSi system title instead of an eshop DSiware. This allows it to be free of charge.

Q: DSi System Title? Can this brick?
A: No, the title we use is DS download play and it is completely non-essential, like the Health & Safety app. You could delete DS dlp and the 3DS wouldn't care. Still, you can easily restore DS dlp after Frogminer with the included Frogtool.3dsx.

Q: Wait, this isn't in the Plailect Guide, how can we trust it?
A: I wrote Seedminer, Frogminer, b9sTool, etc. and I can vouch for the above guide since its been successfully tested for a few days now on the Nintendo Homebrew Discord. The only reason it isn't in The Guide already is that Plailect is a busy guy and he hasn't got around to it yet. It will be included soon.

Q: Why is "Frog" in the name? That frightens me.
A: Because the Flipnote Studio mascot is this little fella:

I just ordered a New Nintendo 3DS XL (Galaxy color from Google express). I'm yet to receive it (will receive it in about 10 days in India). I'm looking to hack it as soon as I receive it. I read a bit about the 3DS hacking scene and realized there are 2 methods - Flashcarts vs Seedminer/Frogminer. I have quite a few questions about this - please excuse for being a noob!

1) Is there any specific advantage of using the ntrboot over seedminer? (apart from the former being easy to install)
2) I read somewhere that for playing DS games ntrboot is the only way and seedminer can play only 3DS games? Is this true? What about earlier consoles like NES,SNES, GBC, GBA etc.?
3) I don't know what my console's FW would be out of the box - do I have to follow different steps based on that FW? In any case, I shouldn't update the FW normally before installing CFW, correct?
4) If I install CFW using seedminer method, can I later reinstall through ntrboot with a flashcart? How?

If you want to use frogminer/Seedminer you have to update since you need to access the eShop.
Yes the only difference between the two is cost.
Yes you could technically use Seedminer on 11.9, but there's absolutely no reason with frogminer being the superior method

That's telling me your movable.sed is wrong. Did you get cfw (Luma3ds) yet?

Anyway, you can just find the Download Play .cia in any 3ds firmware pack and import:
00048005484E4441.cia with FBI to fix it.

That's telling me your movable.sed is wrong. Did you get cfw (Luma3ds) yet?

Anyway, you can just find the Download Play .cia in any 3ds firmware pack and import:

Yes im up and running. Want to move on to my wife's 3ds but the fact that download play now just boots to black and tells me to reboot is bothering me. I had so it would take me to flipnote studio. But i wanted the ds download play to boot as before. I have used the 3dsnus to redownload the system app as cia format. I did a complete delete of the download play and reinstalled to the same error. Deleted and installed using FBI

Going to download the one linked by zacchi4k and give that one a try.

So after installing the CIA it doesn't even show up in the home screen. I was able to see it with FBI and actually launch the installed CIA and it actually does go to download play and starts scanning but only via FBI. I thought maybe it reset something in the 3ds for the original download play version 3073 to work. But no. It still just tells me an error occurred and the system needs to be reset.

So i installed the version you sent me ontop of the version i had and it worked fine now????... i have no idea. But it works... thank you. wouldnt have been able to do it without that cia. Thank you!

It's normal, you have to launch it through the download play app

What shows up on your home menu is 3ds download play. Ds download play is a separate app that is launched inside 3ds download play. So now you need to install both it seems, then try again.

Works flawlessly. Now moving on to updating my wifes 3ds from 4.4 running gateway card to this.. this will work a lot better.
