Hacking [Archive] Waninkoko's Homebrew Stuff

This thread is for archive-purphoses only. A lot of this software is very outdated and can cause your Wii to break (or brick). By downloading and using these applications, you will accept that anything can go wrong and that me (Trash_Bandatcoot), Waninkoko and GBAtemp are not responcible for any possible damage to your Wii.

Waninkoko, a well-known guy when it comes to Nintendo Wii homebrew, as he has created several tools in the past, all the way back in 2008. While some of his homebrew tools are still being used to this day, some of them have gone in obscurity, so I decided to share them, right here!

So this is how this archive works:
-I gather together the .dol or .elf files that are scaterd around the internet.
-I repackage the .dol or .elf file with the original README.txt and LICENSE.txt that it came with, to make it look original and official.
-I upload them here on the forums via my public MEGA.nz account for anyone to check out. Of course, this software is outdated and can cause bricks and crashes, so you'll be warned.

WAD Manager - 10 out of 10 versions found.
This was and sometimes still is a very common tool. It promises what it does, it allows you to install or delete wads in 1 place.

This was one of the many USB Loaders (and a kinda poor one). Compatibility lacks and you might be even lucky if you get it working. SD support is availible as well.

This is a channel loader that allows you to run channels that either don't properly appear on the home menu or have a region lock. Priiloader has menu hacks, making this application useless.

A tool that was commonly used before it got a redesign in "Savegame Manager GX". It allows you to transfer over save data (except for data.bin files).

A tool that extracts your Mii data so it can be copied over to another Wii. This feature is build into Savegame Manager, making this application useless.

DVD Dumper - 3 out of 4 versions found.
The DVD Dumper allows you to dump Wii discs either over USB or Wifi. It does require a cIOS to get it working. With Cleanrip being a thing, using this tool is not recommended, as Cleanrip makes better rips, as well as Gamecube rips.

Firmware Updater - 2 out of 4 versions found.
The firmware updater was created in case people didn't want to update their Wii's on Nintendo's way. Most of the time, they would cause heavy bricks and software incompatibility. The Firmware Updater gets around this by installing the newest channels from Nintendo's servers, without causing any bricks.

Spoiler: cIOS installers

Warning: Do not use or install these applications in any way on your 4.3x Wii. These were build for older Wii versions, as they can do some serious damage to your Wii. Only use this if you really know what you're doing!
cIOS'es did a lot of stuff back then, such as being able to perform specific actions the Wii normally wouldn't take or modifying the Wii intirely. The only cIOS we use nowadays are the ones for USB Loaders.
This part can get messy, as there are several revisions and several cIOS installers, so this will look different than the regular tabs.

He software bricked endless amounts of wiis. It was because of him that i started doing console repairs. He basically jump started my business.

Either way, nothing of his is in use anymore by any sensible human being.

I don't want to say much, except:
I think you'll need glasses, because this was the first thing I typed.

he doesn't need glasses, but he knows MANY people will not read your warning and will start using old tools they shouldn't mess with. (specifically cIOS installer < rev14, and system menu updater)
I'm for archiving and historical record; but not sure it's a good idea to give file visibility when not needed.
Most files are already on filetrip and download section for people who care, making a new thread might ask for noob problems.

Also, I'm glad for once someone correctly wrote Waninkoko's name. I can't tell how many time I saw a wrong spelling.

I also have files you are missing (like usb loader 1.0 to 1.5, wad managers, video mode changer, etc.)
I'm archiving a lot of releases, not only waninkoko's.

Yeah, I've seen someone spell Waninkoko "Wanikoko" in a meta file.

Anyway, I will make the warning bigger to make sure nobody will brick their Wii's and put the blame in my hands. I also don't really expect anyone to "use" this, more so to be archived as it took me a while to find some of these homebrew apps, most of them aren't even on Filetrip.

Especially that this is a new thread, iodiots will think that this is the latest and greatest software. Are you going to make sure that all the noobs and idiots have their glasses on too?

How about this, just don't post the apps that are known to brick things.

Personally, I don't mind getting more business from people bricking their consoles because of WantinCocoa's carelessness, but is does do anything good for the community.

not sure why you want to list how difficult it was for you to find the files, because once you provide them they are not rare anymore. if you really want to find all files, they are not rare to me, I have most of them.
I just hope people will understand what you are doing, and won't run old tools for no reason, but I know few will do it anyway...

Don't post the dols or elfs, but the full release packages with the nfo, readme, in all languages, etc. (I doubt cios_r17 was provided only as dol. I didn't even know there were a v2)
don't remove information or edit anything from official releases if you intend to do archival job.

readme and changelog are IMPORTANT!
they help understanding what has been fixed and prevent bricking by not using too old programs or console incompatible versions.
The readme is also very important as it often explain how to install, setup and use the tool properly! removing this is a very bad decision.
to me, your current thread is useless and wrong.

Hm, I should do that, but some of them just come with a stand-alone dol or elf.
