I'm still wondering how Nintendo gets fuc**d so hard every time... Smash Bros is one of their masterpieces and it got leaked 2 weeks before launch. I mean... How in the world?

Okay 8 people that voted yes... Why haven't you posted any proof? I guess most people here are more cautious/smart which may be a good thing.
It's because they didn't really get bricked

No one has. There has been 0 brocks so far nor any brick NSPs for smash

Now some may pop up but nothing has happened yet and anyone that says other wise is talking out of their ass

There is one curious NSP tho that has modified files but that's about it

Even though a lot of Smash uploads appear to be clean, I'm still concerned with how many have reported crashing at some point. I have rarely ever had my switch crash on 5.1 with sx os so it's a mini red flag for me. I'll probably wait.

It would be awesome if someone complied a database of all MD5s of the NSP files floating around and their status. This could be Incorporated into tinfoil or as a desktop app to verify if a file is "Known Good", "Unknown" or "Confirmed to Brick". I don't think this would violate any copyright laws either.

You have a valid point. The one that seems to be unmodified, still has shown stability issues.
I saw in other places that it was associated with the USB install method, especially data corruption issues. And that installing another way resolves this.

So who knows how other people are installing it? Or why this this way of installing it would matter?

at the moment the rom works fine, but we dont know what culd be happen on the next days.
Yep pretty much. It could be a one week or one month timebomb for all we know. Then they laugh and celebrate once it bricks hundreds if not thousands of switches.

Something tells me it's highly unlikely. If your system is in airplane mode, how would it get triggered? By the calendar reaching a certain date? Just move your calendar back a few days if you're worried. No other triggers would happen simultaneously and if it doesn't happen all at once, you would see people post about it so that you could prevent it. It sounds like hypothetical FUD from people who are trying to prevent you enjoying your life.

Sadly we never know until that time comes. For now I'm enjoying my smash and also have a back up ready just in case.

The developer of lets go Pikachu brick code said they could make a time bomb brick nsp, so people are right to be worried.

I believe the safest option is to wait for scene release, or am i wrong?

if the brinking doesn't happen soon then everyone can replace the one they are using with a scene dump.

Dump your nands. Playing Ultimate everyday since the leak. been fine eversince but if it ever bricks i'll just dump my backup nands.

you mean restore your backup nands.
its gonna be a bitch though if it also messes with files on sd though

The poll should say "Which ones of you are stupid enough to fall for the bricking Smash Ultimate roms?".

Seriously, if you get bricked, good job. Maybe next time you'll consider just waiting and going the legal route : )

You sound mad

How do you check that?
Look up something like MD5 checker on Google. You can also check the CRC32 hash on Windows 10 with a right click, or maybe you need 7-Zip installed to have it as part of the the right click menu. Either way, there's guides out there to help you out in this regard.

Apparently, some stores in Mexico that received early shipments so it'd be ready and available for the release date sold some early, hence all of the leaks coming out and about here and on Reddit.
