This a question for the future:

If I ever neet to change from one CFW to another. Do I need to delete everything and start from scratch? Or can I preserve my installed games? I know you can backup savefiles manually.

Currently using Reinx.

possible to hack on latest fw? got a 1.0 switch but gf wants to use pokemon on it , have an other on 5.1 hacked .

Hi! I was able to play pokemon let's go with joycons detached from the console on docked mode the whole of yesterday in airplane mode. But this morning when I detached the joycons from the console, it says "cannot detach joycons when in airplane mode". What the hell?? I have never left airplane mode since hacking the switch months ago, and yesterday it worked without any issue. Why am I suddenly unable to do it again?

Airplane mode doesn't help against a possible ban so no point in turning that on. Might as wel use a DNS setting or remove network settings completely.

do I need some kind of serial number to hack my switch??
I checked out this topic https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-...he-first-post-before-asking-questions.481215/

But can't find my serial number on it??

Look on the bottom of your Switch.

Latest firmware you can but it depends on serial number. Check the thread the first person I quoted posted.

Here’s and odd question: what happens if I try to run one of the games that I’ve installed on the SD card, if I DON’T boot a CFW? Kinda tempted to try it out but I chickened out and went here instead X)

I honestly didn’t expect to see the games installed when I booted the Switch without my jig and with no payload injector. Thought that the Switch wouldn’t detect them, dunno why I had this idea :P
They don't work in OFW.
Will any fuses be burnt if I connect to my WiFi after updating?, since I need that to delete the accounts.
If you have AutoRCM enabled, you won't burn fuses.

CFW are managed via a folder named after the CFW itself (e.g Atmosphere, SX OS, ReiNX). Switching CFW just involves placing another folder by the name of the CFW you are using. And you can even have multiple CFW on one SD card. So if you want to use another CFW, you don't really need to do anything.
when i try to restore my nand backup it says “Size of the SD card backup does not match, emmc’s selected part size” why does that happen?
If the sizes don't match, the sizes don't match.

I installed some nsps on tinfoil weeks ago.it worked before.and now it does not open it says something like could not open software go back to home menu for all but i installed a different nsp and it works now. It is the same scenario as what trollface1011 said on page 330. I did some testing like installing over usb to NAND and SD and normally installing it from the sd to both sd and nand and still they dont work.

the question is can you try help me?

Asking a bit of a NOOB question here, as my time is limited over the next few days (work and school stuff), so I am not currently at liberty to parse through posts as I normally would.

I have another Switch (core tablet only) arriving later today that I plan to use as a legit device, as I would like to use eShop and I'm going in on a family plan with some friends. I already know that I'm going to have to create a new Nintendo account, but I just want to confirm whether or not it's safe to connect using the same network that my hacked Switch got banned on. Feedback from anyone who also has two consoles would also be helpful.

Nintendo doesn't track IP addresses because one, you can easily bypass it with a dynamic IP address or a VPN and two, just because one console using the network is violated the ToS because its hacked doesn't automatically mean the others are. That would be unfair and unjust for Nintendo to ban any console on the same network as a hacked one.

Thanks for the quick response! I figured such would be the case. I just wanted to be sure, considering some of Nintendo's dirty tactics as of late.

On network install following a guide on reddit it says "make sure you put the nsp file in the tools folder" I don't understand what tools folder? I have remote_install_pc.py and I installed python. Where should I have a tools folder?

Edit: I just made one, but I'm getting (on tinfoil) OnSelected:192: Failed to open client socket with code 9.

Cmd acts like it's starting the process of transfering but then closes.

ok I see thanks. I just deleted my wifi settings and will just leave it like that.

Ok So I need a quick catchup questions. I hacked my switch about 1 month (October 5th) ago. Is there really any changes. I am currently on 6.01 but unsure which version atmosphere.

What is Kosmos?
Sparkle?
Do we still have to have a payload loader?
Do we still have to shut off switch by holding in power for 12 seconds?
Should I follow the guide again at sdsetup?
If I backed up my switch and then hacked it and then accidently updated to 6.01 do I need a new backup of my system?

I see everyone recommending Hekate as the payload to inject. Why choose it over the ReiNX payload they recommend at reinx.guide if I plan to use ReiNX as my CFW?
