The longer you wait the lower the chance. Not sure where you live but where I am they are already pretty hard to come by in shops. After Black Friday I think it should be pretty much impossible, as all shops will offload their old stock.

That's totally a personal decision (I prefer the look of the fat one myself), but you may have a harder time selling a fat PS4 than a slim one down the line.

Those in the shops right now are likely 5.55.

I don't know anything about this specific bundle, but if there's a risk it doesn't come with 5.07 you may want to take the safer route. Also please note that 5.07 is a tricky firmware, as there is no recovery firmware for it - if something goes wrong and you mess up your system with homebrew, you'll have to update to >5.07.

In my opinion CUH-7016B is pretty much guaranteed to have 4.70 or lower.

Thanks for the response. I just found a second hand slim 1tb with 4.70 for a decent price. May I ask how probable it is to mess up with homebrew?

As a heads up for anyone in the UK, Argos's eBay page is currently selling a 500GB Jet Black Slim bundle with GTA V (not the limited edition) model CUH-2016A Ebay Ref: 332859108502, release date 15th Nov 2016 and 500GB Glacier White Slim Battlefront 2 bundle (again not the LE) Model CUH-2116A Ebay Ref: 352495256557. Release date 17th Nov 2017. Both for £294.99 at time of writing. I've just bought the GTA V one because PS4Ident suggests 3.55-4.73 on that one, Battlefront 2 is saying 3.55-5.50 across that model, couldn't find specifics for this retail bundle. Seems to be limited stock so I didn't bother waiting for them to respond with further codes to check.

Seems like a relatively safe bet to buy some apparently new ones in clearance from a trusted retailer with a decent returns policy. Expected delivery of 13-14th so I'll post back once it arrives with any luck.

Do you know if the chassis D models that are still being sold are on a >5.05 firmware ?

What about ps4 with uncharted4(not the limited ed.) or crash bandicoot N.sane trilogy white or the 500gb silver model+2 gamepads(i think only the d chassis version of this bundle exist) that are sold on gamestop online ?

Are you referring to this? If you are, I think there is a good chance that it is under 5.05.

My PS4 from Argos's Ebay Outlet arrived so posting back with an update.

CUH-2016A B01Y
P-27452373-F
S01-2551784-I

Arrived with version 3.55 installed.

The outer box was a little banged up, presumably because its been doing the rounds in Argos's warehouses. Everything inside was unopened though. £295 is pretty hefty for a 500GB Slim considering most the newer 500GB Bundles can be had for £250 and 1TB for £299, especially since its supposed to be clearance stock. But if you just want to be sure you're getting an unopened old PS4 its not the worst deal ever. The eBay references are in my last post, personally went for the GTA V bundle since it was older but in theory that Battlefront 2 one is fine also.

Yup https://defaultdnb.github.io/PS4IDENT/index.html confirmes 3.55-4.73 range for that model.

I just wanted to post, the one i bought that had

Interesting, was it a bundle console or anything?

Any more info you can share would be great.

The 71xx series was known to be 3.70-5.55, but the 70xx series is old and shouldn’t be that high... that’s strange.

PS4 battlefront2 slim limited edition 1Tb

Any chance this is hack-able ?

Hey guys! :D

I've been waiting for this year's Black Friday, to buy a Playstation 4 Pro since a couple months now.
I tried to read a lot, and gather as much information as possible in the meanwhile.
Now that the date is finally here, is there anything else besides that awesome website that gives you the needed information about the model / product number,
(by the way, how accurate is this site, can I rely solely on it?)
and the other sites, where people gathered information since the 4.05-4.55 firmwares?

I would really appreciate any help, because I really want to acquire a Pro, with a 5.05 firmware or below.

Are webshops riskier and therefore no-go, because I won't be able to see the model and product numbers before it arrives?
Would it be better to visit a shop and search for a bundle
(What bundles are in the shops at the moment that come with a 5.05 or below firmware playstation? Is the Fifa 19 one the latest?)
or looking for a separate playstation pro would be better?
(Which model numbers are risk-free, risky and no-go? Is the CUH-71XX the latest that can be both below and above the magic 5.05?)

Thank you in advance,
Balazs

I ordered a CUH-2116A PS4 Slim Jet Black console but now I'm seeing that there's a chance that this will be on 5.50?? I thought all European 500GB Slims have to be on or below 5.07.
