@gaberilde I was trying to extract a cia, however all it did was extract contents000.00000000 to the folder i specified. i made sure to have boot9.bin and boot11.bin in the same directory as the program.
This is intentional behavior plus i dont think boot9 is required
Use "extract ncch" on the contents.0000 file
Hi, first off, THANK YOU. This tool is very intuitive and easy to navigate.
I am, however, a noob, and having a problem. I'm trying to edit a pokemon mod rom (rutile red) for use in citra. Basically, I download the rom, I extract the .cxi, I extract the NCCH, edit the romfs with pk3ds, then when I try and rebuild the NCCH i get the error " open file (destination)/code.bin failed. ERROR: create file failed ". I didn't select anything because I wasn't sure what it did (ei I didn't click" encryption" or "decompress code.bin").
Perhaps I'm using pk3ds incorrectly? I simply made the edits and closed it - correct? I'm also thinking maybe I can't edit a modded rom?

try rebuilding it without any edits too see if it works
if not send a screenshot of the program (not the error ) on the rebuilding screen
also you can send debug info to see if there are any issues with the rom itself.

make sure you copy the log id to a reply so i can check it

I cant get the app to work are their dependencys? when i load a .3ds file and it is decrypted as well it doesn't populate partitions and extracting cias doesn't work either. Also i know the rom is dumped correctly and their are no problems with it opens and works in every other program.

nevermind you have to have the app on the main os drive not a external.
Werid. It should work on an external drive (it does for me)
Just make sure you have permissions to access the files (or the app have permissions) Does it work if you run the app as admin?
Also the roms should not be in the drive itself they should be in a folder (Werid windows permissions thing)
I got an idea for another potentially useful extra feature! In-Place decryption/encryption of .cia/.3ds files while keeping them the same format. For example
input: mydump.cia ---> encrypted
output: mydump.cia ---> decrypted
input: mydump.cia ---> encrypted
output: mydump.cia ---> decrypted
Got a question regarding.rebuilding .cia files.... When I go to rebuild my pokemon ultra moon cia file do I add both contents.0000.00000000 and contents.0001.00000001 or just the first one?
@gaberilde I've been using hackingtools trying to rebuild Pokémon sun with the update and it just black screens. Also tried another game, same thing. Can you're tool patch a game update to a .3ds game for citra?
I've got a rom that's only the DLC for Fire Emblem Fates, but when trying to extract the content.0000.000008d file I just get errors (filetype mismatch). Can anyone help?
Trying to extract Ultra Moon .3ds. Doesn't work. There are no partitions to click in to extract. What should i do? I tried Hackingtool3ds too and that doesn't work neither, just "succesfully extracts" nothing

in the application, i've set Title, Major, Minor, and Micro to 5264.5.9.2, but when the cia installs it shows as 5120.5.0.0
is there anything you'd be able to help me with to get the actual versions to go through properly?

Have the same problem, Minor version is ignored, tried to rebuild a CIA with version 3.4.0 and the result is 3.0.0. Modifed cia works anyway, great tool (could'nt make HackingTool9 work anymore)
The program should automatically decrypt an encrypted rom it might not be possible to re encrypt however
You should add all to ensure all updates and manual are preserved its not nessary to do this but if you dont it will only break using the manual or doing updates from the rom if you dont add it
