Kodi is open source so, why wouldn't it be?

I have not read their licens/term stuff, Reading stuff like that usually bores me to death.
But let's say that they write there that anyone is allowed to read their code but not allowed to share forks of their software.
Then that makes it illegal to share a port of it.

Im just asking in case anyone knows for sure. :)

You can do anything as long as you follow the license.
If you want to contribute: https://github.com/VelocityRa/xbmc/tree/switch

Oh so someone is already working on it then :) Cool!

It can be freely forked BTW. A bunch of projects do so - OSMC, OpenELEC among others.

Cool thx guys for all the answers, Im happy that someone is working on it.
I was interested in trying to start a project of my own, but as I never worked on anything for the Switch and there is already a project for this I think I will just sit this one out.
If I get an idea of sothething that I think I can do and noone is working on it yet then maybe I'll jump on that oportunity. :)

But I don't want to collaborate with anyone until I feel comfy working on this system.
