Hello everyone,
I’ve recently ported a few Löve-based games to various platforms and would love to receive some feedback. Right now, the only homebrew game ported to Nintendo devices is Pacpac, which can be downloaded here:

Unfortunately, I don’t have access to any Nintendo hardware at the moment, so I’m unable to test it myself. I’d greatly appreciate it if someone with a Nintendo device could test the game and share any screenshots or feedback on how it performs.
I’m also interested in porting more games but, as you can imagine, testing without the actual hardware is quite challenging. If anyone is willing to help test the ports, it would be a huge help and would allow me to add more homebrew games to the list!
Here are a few games I think would be relatively easy to port and are good candidates for testing:

  • Celeste Pico (Platformer)
  • Bomb Jack (Arcade)
  • Chamber of Jewels (Puzzle)
  • Chess Engine (Chess)
  • Curse of the Arrow (Platformer)
  • Fish Fillets Mini (Puzzle)
  • Gorge (Shoot 'Em Up)
  • Helium (Arcade)
  • In Your Face (Arcade)
  • Bobble (Arcade, Bubble Bobble clone)
  • Mad Wheelz (Puzzle)
  • Mr. Rescue (Arcade)
  • Mazer (Puzzle)
  • No Parachute (Arcade)
  • Safety Blanket (Arcade)
  • Tetris (Classic)
  • Inertia Blast II (Arcade)
These games are relatively lightweight, do not require heavy memory usage, and can easily have shaders disabled, making them suitable candidates for porting. While I can’t guarantee which ones will work perfectly without testing, they should run fairly well with minimal adjustments.

I’m posting this here in the switch section, but the same code should work for other platforms like the 3DS, WII, and Wii U as they all use the same Löve2D port ("love-potion").

Thanks in advance for any feedback, and I look forward to hearing from you!

If you haven't tested it, you should probably buy a used hacked Switch, such as in the case of the first-gen Switch models. They shouldn't be too hard to find and can be found on second-hand marketplaces. Nobody is going to bother doing the work in your favor.

Hi, thanks for the reply. you are probably right, but it's worth trying. Actually people are not going to "do me any favor", they are going to do it themselves because the games will be released for free for anyone owning the hardware, but I get your point.

I may consider buying a second hand device in the future just for testing the games, but in the meanwhile just in case someone is interested on bringing more games to the homebrew channel I leave the post here.

So what you're saying, is that, the folks who try out your game is going to give feedback to you if it functions like it should do, and that your code is working without flaws? Honestly, with all due respect, I think it's pure incompetence that you think this. As a developer, it's crucial to test your code to make sure it doesn't crash mid-way and that you did it right before you finalize it to a repository, instead of giving someone an incomplete game that doesn't provide the promises it makes.

I may consider buying a second hand device in the future just for testing the games.
If you consider doing ports and future plans for ports that you desire, I would recommend that you buy a Switch as part of your development environment. Emulation is a no-go for anything accuracy-wise.

@fossapps
Unfortunately, "pacpac" port closes right now after 1st screen, it just crashed with no other error codes, so it's not working properly:

I guess you seriously need an actual hardware Switch with CFW to test them properly. :)
