Hello all,
I apologize if this has been stated somewhere - it's tricky to find an exact answer to my question.
I have SXOS and noticed that my Switch had to updated to play some updates (Mario Tennis Aces etc.)
So I uninstalled all of the games that I had installed via XCI, uninstalled autorcm, booted into OFW, turned off Airplane mode for the first time since using SXOS, and updated using the OTA update to 6.0. (I know this has burned fuses but oh well.)
I know now that there are ways to update from within homebrew, and using emuNAND etc., but I did not know about these at the time.
The question I have is - will this have banned me? I have not played any games online since using SXOS, nor have I accessed the eShop etc. since using SXOS. But will I be banned now that I have updated to 6.0 using the OTA?
Thanks!

This banning thing is so random. Hasn't anyone figured out the one thing that guarantees a ban? I have been using SXOS since day one, been playing XCI and NSPP titles and I even used freeshop back when it was working. I have been updating the firmware directly from the internet on each new release. Yet I still can't seem to get myself banned. Then I have a friend that only did a few naughty things with his Switch and got banned within a week or two from first starting his hacked Switch.

I have never actually played a multiplayer game online. Maybe that was it.

It would still be nice to know the one thing that is a guaranteed ban.

Not having a definitive ban cause plays in Nintendo's favor because if they hypothetically banned specific practices, then hackers would simply avoid those or implement features that made them more conspicuous. Keeping banning random ensures the maximum amount of paranoia and fear in order to prevent people from hacking as much as possible. It was the exact same way with the 3DS after all of the banwaves that went through the scene; a single identifiable cause was never found nor will there ever be one with the Switch. This just shows that hacking your Switch can get you banned and the only ones who aren't banned are just lucky. I myself pirated many games online on the 3DS but was never banned yet others who only used homebrew were not as fortunate. There is and will never be a pattern to identify.
