Can someone please answer this simple question, does sx os update 2.2 add working cheat support on exfat sd card ? if not does the same apply for hdd games because I get blank thumbnails when splitting games in xci format for fat 32 sd please help.

The Nintendo exFAT driver is very unreliable. I can very easily cause FAT corruption when writing to the SD card at which point, due to there being only a single FAT as opposed to the redundancy on FAT32.

Since the SX OS Cheat function relies heavily on dumping the RAM and writing it to the SD card, It seems to me as if they intentionally left out exfat compatibility for the cheat function in order to minimize the risk for data corruption.

EDIT: I also think blank thumbnails for split .XCI files is expected behaviour.

I think if you are only using cheats others have created exfat works just fine. It is when searching to create your own cheats when lots of data is being written to the sd card that the chances of corruption occurs.

Blank thumbnails for split xci files only happens in Card 2 type games. Card 1 type games show the thumbnail correctly.
thanks for the reply from all of you, just want to know if there is a fix for blank thumbnails that i dont know about yet

No, it can only be fixed by TX - maybe they will fix it in an updated sx os, but I think they are busy doing other stuff just now.

cheats could be use in fat32 or exfat,
it only corrupts your micro sd if you search for cheats on exfat

Cheats work on exFat but the scanning can corrupt the sd card because dumping the memory has a lot of data to write. I would suggest using a fat32 card for cheats.

What about my question to mrdude can I change card 2 to 1 with new backup manager to stop blank thumbnails
