Homebrew my Wii U is stuck on bootup

I have installed custom firmware on my Wii U using https://wiiu.hacks.guide/ and it worked perfectly for ages. After coming back to my wii U when it had been powered off and unplugged for a long time, I turned it on. It booted normally and I played on it for a while. After turning it back on about an hour later it said there was a problem with the system memory and I know why this is. The CFW on the home menu software is called DON'T TOUCH ME! and auto boots on startup. This has become corrupt and is causing my Wii U to crash when it boots. Is there any way around this? Or is my Wii U screwed? Please help! I will even accept a way to factory reset my Wii U!

First of all, No. You're screwed. If your Wii U has CBHC installed and the title is unable to boot, the Wii U is bricked. You need to NAND restore via Hardmod or just use it as a doorstop.

Second, are you sure that it was the NAND randomly corrupting? That seems a tad far fetched to me unless you've ran that console's nand through a ton of write cycles.

Are you absolutely sure you or someone with access to your Wii U didn't do any one of these things before the console stopped working?

• Never uninstall the CBHC DS virtual console game or you will BRICK.
• Never reinstall the CBHC DS virtual console game or you will BRICK.
• Never move the CBHC DS virtual console game to a USB drive or you will BRICK.
• Never delete the user account NNID that has purchased the CBHC DS virtual console game or you will BRICK!
• Never format your device while CBHC is installed or you will BRICK!

yeah, I just realised that was me. I deleted my NNID because I COMPLETELY forgot about it's consequences. So about that hardmod. Would I be capable of doing it?What exactly do I need to do? Thanks for replying

I thought so. Chances are that mistake just cost you your Wii U.

Hardmodding to repair a Wii U is not something easy, and it has some prerequisites, like having access to proper backups of at minimum, the consoles unique otp or a full backup of the slc from before CHBC was installed.

If you don't have that, then the console is basically spare parts, or maybe an expensive doorstop, depending on how you look at it.

If you do have the otp.bin or slc.bin mentioned, then other stuff is needed too, particularly skills at soldering on really tiny pads, a teensy, among other things. It's complicated.

If you happen to have this stuff and the skills necessary, I'd recommend checking out this thread and also joining the Nintendo Homebrew Discord and heading into the #hardware and/or #wiiu-assistance channels for further help, I'm sure there's someone on there that's done wiiu hardmodding before. (I hope)

I personally have no experience hardmodding Wii U's to fix them from CBHC bricks so I can't be of further help here.

If what OP says is true I'd hardly call NAND failure "total incompetence".

OP stated later in the thread that he deleted his NNID. A very easy rule to follow. He didn't and it bricked. The Wii U is a good console that won't exist forever and these people a speeding up its extinction by bricking them instead of playing them for 30 years and then the hardware fails.

would replacing the hard drive fix this? I have no clue what I'm talking about by the way, just guessing
