I just noticed my modded Wii cannot read original GC discs from the Wii menù.
I thought I had a busted drive (I get the error that the disc cannot be read) but then I tried mounting the disc in USB Loader GX and it loads and works fine.

Since I moved my beloves GC to the attic to save space, I'd like get the Wii to be able to read GC games normally.
Here's my log. Can anyone spot what's missing?
Thank you

MIOS is responsible for GC loading and the version # of yours indicates that it has been customized, but not sure how exactly.

For backup GC loading u want a cMIOS, but for official GC disc loading the official MIOS v10 should be sufficient (I think v10 is the latest official version)

Also it appears that your syscheck report appears to have been generated in 2011???

And no need to remove 236 as recommended above, it doesn't hurt anything

I followed a guide on GBATEMP. But it was 10 years ago ;)

So should I download the MIOS wad with NUS Downloader? Will this block the ability to run GC ISOs? You said you need a cMIOS for that, but I don't understand if the only mios showing in the log is responsible for that.
If so, overwriting it will break the ability to loas ISOs, I think. Or maybe it will install MIOS10 ad a different MIOS, leaving the current one alone?

Before realizing it was a software problem I tore the wii down and removed the battry. Maybe the internal clock reset.

Install MIOSv10 for official GC disc loading. This will prevent GC backup disc loading. If u want backup GC disc loading then install cMIOS (you can download both using ModMii Classic). You can only have 1 MIOS/cMIOS installed at a time.

To load GameCube backups from a hard drive is totally separate and does not rely on MIOS. For this, you want to use nintendont (and it optionally integrates well with usbloader gx)

Edit : there are a couple other things that are out of date on your console as well, like the homebrew channel, and d2x cios's. You can use ModMii to rehack your wii as if nothing has ever been done to it, or if u want to avoid 2 minutes of redundant steps u can use Modmii's syscheck analyzer feature to instruct you on how to update JUST what's outdated.
