Do i need to install ReiNX first before I use ChoiDujourNX to update FW and add exFAT support?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

@Draxzelex help. I followed ReiNX guide and injected payload. The splash screen appears then screen blacks out. After that it seems to boot normally. Then i power off switch and i get error code 2162-0002

ReiNX doesnt seem to work for some reason. Can you tell me if Atmosphere is sufficient/better than ReiNX?

Working on making dOPUS work now to install nsp/xci

Hey hey, just moved and my stuff is stuck on a truck and delayed so I figured now a great time to get a switch.
So where do I start? I've done soft mods like ps2 and 3ds as well as hardware like 360 cool runner, dual nand, etc.
I dont have my soldering gear though.
So can you play online fully? In relation to 3ds is there a emunand that's preferred or if you have a nand dump you can do whatever safely?
I saw a mention of emulation being good so I'd like to try that in addition to switch backups as well.

Hello,
id like to ask if there is a way to delete the notification symbol on my user profile on the homemenu, because my Switch downloaded the new update , which i could get rid off, but i cant access my user profile anymore bc it constantly asks to login into my nintendo account.
Cheers

i want to use the sx os 2.0 nand dumper function. is it ok to use practically the same when dumping with hekate or with an pc and the tegra utility?
also, inside the sx menu, i can choose advanced dump and then there are two more options, one is user partition i think and the other im not sure atm.
do i check all and make an "advanced" dump bevor fiddling with my brand new switch or is the "normal" dump enough?
also, does it work with fat 32 micro sd (since the nand is 32gb) or does it have to be exfat (which is stupid because i dont have support and have to update first, which i didnt want to do before nand backup)

Are there any brick and mortar stores that have proper USB-C cables for sending payloads from PC to Switch? I got a cable off ebay and it just causes all PC versions of the Tegra program to go "not responding" when I try to send a payload. Best Buy and Wal-Mart don't have much information for their cables listed.

There is an "EmuNAND" solution out but its exclusive to SX OS and is not a true EmuNAND because it runs from the NAND rather than the SD card which means it may be detectable to Nintendo. As for playing online, using CFW has and always will carry a risk of getting banned. The only way to mitigate such a risk is by making a clean hack-free NAND backup, staying offline with all manner of hacks and homebrew, then restoring the clean NAND before going online. If you want a guide to get started, this is one I recommend: https://www.sdsetup.com/

Enter maintenance mode by holding volume + and - when you turn on the console which will automatically delete any pending system update.

I do not trust the dumping options in SX OS. I would much rather use something like Hekate that has a working verify function and has been dumping the NAND for months reliably now than a tool that just came up with it a week ago.

I didn't buy mine in person but off of Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MYT481C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
As long as it as it supports USB-C and can perform data transfer (not just charging), it should work.

Oh I thought you were referring to a system update. Outside of linking an account, I don't know of any way to remove that. Also the Joy-Cons work fine on lower and higher firmwares regardless if they're updated or not.
An ethernet adapter?
Uh no. That's only for LAN play.

i am currently running SXOS on 5.2(iirc). Is it safe to update? Any reason not to do it? (yeah, I did read the OP, just want to be safe).

If you update to firmware 6.0 with SX OS, then you will have mixed compatibility with certain hacks such as LayeredFS (disabled on some versions) and DevMenu (doesn't work on firmware 6.0). I should also mention that other CFW have better support for firmware 6.0 than SX OS.

As long as you have the ReiNX folder on your SD card and use ReiNX.bin as your payload, you can load the CFW ReiNX.

I'm currently loading Atmosphere through Hekate. Can I do the same for ReiNX?
