Bad idea, NAND is console unique...hope you have your OWN backup NAND (or at least prod info partitions) to restore

Rut Roe ...if i understand you correctly then thats no good.. The prod info partition of a nand is unique to the console you are using. You just cant simply restore a friends nand to yours Im hoping you have at least your prod info partition because you can restore all parts of the system which is not unique back to normal with choidujour but without the prod info part I think your in trouble dude. :(

alright so thanks you for letting me know my swosn is bricked....
Any possibility you have a emmc sys or emmc raw gpp backuped up somewhere? If you do all hope is not lost , but if not hate to be bearer of bad news but its gone man sorry.. if its new and still under returns/warranty you could try store return maybe or contact nintendo and play the innocent role.

The bootrom has two parts, one is stored on the prodinfo partition, and the other is stored within the fuses (so, it cannot be changed). So both depends on the other, and the correct pair is needed to boot the Switch.
So, to fix the issue, you need to restore your own prodinfo backup. I think that in theory a CFW could fix the issue, but I don't think that somebody would anytime make that as it costs a lot of time and the issue is caused by a bad use of the switch.

Nintendo probably wouldn't fix the console becouse they would see that the issue is caused by a wrong prodinfo partition that can happen only making "strange works" with the switch. They also could ban the other "genuine console" of your friend (becouse it's cert is stored on your own switch, and having that in your console means that the other has "something dirty" too.
You could try by erasing the whole prodinfo partition and hoping they accept that, but I don't think so.
Nintendo does not make any fix, even if you would pay for that, if the console has some manumission.

EDIT: more info here, https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Cryptosystem

Wow... thats a first.
Thats exactly the reason why you should inform yourself before you do something stupid.

OP also did not answer the most important question: "Do you have a NAND backup of your OWN Switch?"
Yes = save, No = fucked
iirc boot0/boot1 and biskeys are enought to rebuild a system

Then there is no problem, you can revert with your own backup.
If you did not update to 6.0.0 (only with your friends backup) and never went online with it you can update via Nintendo.
If you went online, update via Choidujour if you want to / have to because of fuses

If you don't burn any fuse on update you can go back to 5.1.0, never install another nand backup, use always your own.

If you update burning fuses, still possible recover your Switch I guess, but you should replace all unic files with the files of your 5.1.0 backup, you can have file access to nand with memloader and use tools like Hex Workshop to compare the current files with the files of your own backup.

OMG dont break your backup by copying files into it.
I never heard something so dumb as updating a few files manualy to get to 6.0

Don't break your Switch or your backup.
Revert your backup to your Switch, go and look for the tutorials on this forum, read them carefully, follow them to the dot.
Many ppl took their time to make them noob save, use it.

I didn't say update files manually to get to 6.0, I didn't say modify your nand backup...

The thing is simple, if he update to 6.0 burning fuses he can't restore his 5.1.0 nand backup, the Switch gona enter on kernel panic if he try to boot...

I say that if he can't back to the 5.1.0 because the burned efuses and it's the unic copy of his own nand backup, the only way to recover this Switch it's restore his unic files manually, the brick are caused by him restoring a friend nand backup on his Switch, overwritting his Switch unic files with his friend files...

That I'm recent registered on gbatemp doesn't mean that I'm new on the development, reverse engineering or scene, a lot of years of this are on my back (more than 10) ;)

Help can restore 5.1 if use boots always the CFW.
Help just need his backup, not the one of the friend.

Help could also install 6.0 clean (there is a tutorial in the tutorial section) but it is easier to restore his backup.

@Chocola what i meant was this part
but you should replace all unic files with the files of your 5.1.0 backup, you can have file access to nand with memloader and use tools like Hex Workshop to compare the current files with the files of your own backup
There is no reason to change anything by hand. Not his boot partition or any unique files. He should revert his backup, check if he can boot and use hakate if not.
If he still wants to or has to go to 6.0.0 he should do that by choidujour.

This has nothing to do with our time on GBAtemp or in any scene.

Wow boys really, Let me answer ....

You have a nand backup 5.1.0 sir thats good news for you..
What you need to do first, is to make a copy of your rawnand.bin thats on your pc for safe keeping so you have 2..

then open your rawnand.bin your going to edit with hacdiskmount,
Double click prodinfo first enter your biskeys from your saved biskey ,txt
Biskey 0

into box UPPER GOES BISKEY 0 CRYPTO
into box LOWER GOES BISKEY 0 TWEAK
click test if it passes save

Also in that menu OPERATIONS OF PRODINFO
dump to file somewere safe..

once that is done close prodinfo
then Open Prodinfo F
And The keys should be pre filled you need to dump this as well .

so in the same folderyou should have prodinfo.bin and prodinfof.bin...

Ok now your done close the hacdiskmount..

Examples of what i am talking about
PRODINFO.JPG
PRODINFOF.JPG

Now you will need to
Follow this guide.. > Click here ignore step 1 and 2

And you will need 6.0 system files/update files.. dont use anything lower then that..

And before you you finish with the guide, remember to restore your prod info and prodinfo f that i asked you to dump...
By using the restore from file for both prodinfo and prodinfo f

Then once your all done boot the switch with the hekate payload, and you should be working again...

If you do not boot with the hekate method after your done with guide it will not work,
But you need to use bricmii to unbric fix the boot0/1 files /cust data to fix the boot0/1 after the guide.

Goodluck.. I do offer a remote connection to your pc and will do the process for you and will chat on discord voice chat..
But would like to be payed for such a thing ...
