A while back my 3DS was stolen, which had a bunch of saves on it and was pretty important to me (as it was a gift and it was in pristine condition). Since then I've bought another 3DS (both are o3DS btw) to replace the stolen one, but it obviously didn't have any saves on it etc.

I found this (gbatempnet/threads/manual-system-transfer-for-saves-content.388033) guide on how to use a NAND backup to system transfer and was wondering if I could do that as well. I'm pretty sure I do not have any XORPads though, unless Plailect's guide tells you to do so... (The backup is from when soundhax was a new thing)

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me get my stuff back! It would mean so much to me. Thanks for any replies in advance!

List of files I have in my "NAND backup" folder in case that helps:
- configsave.bin
- LocalFriendCodeSeed
- movable.sed
- SecureInfo
- Decrypt9.txt
- NAND.bin
- NAND.bin.sha
- NANDmin.bin
- NANDmin.bin.sha
- NATIVE_FIRM.app
- NATIVE_FIRM.bin
- otp.bin

You should report to Nintendo that your previous 3DS was stolen. If you give them the serial number and verify you're the rightful owner, they'll make sure to super ban it so that the fucker who stole the 3DS can't go on eShop, play online, or use any their online services.

It's not much but a small thorn to that person's ill gotten gains.

In case you ever get banned, you can change out your LocalFriendCodeSeed. This is assuming you didn't report to Nintendo in banning your original 3DS.

It's a long shot since your 3DS was stolen and you probably don't have this, but if you do...

If you have a backup of your SD card setup with the original Nintendo 3DS folder that has your games and saves, you can use the movable.sed to recover and backup your encrypted game saves. There's some hex editing involved to copy the encryption key over to your new 3DS's movable.sed.
  • You then backup and decrypt the saves with Checkpoint or JKSM.
  • GodMode9 has the ability to recreate your installed games into CIAs.
Once you have both CIAs and the decrypted saves, you'll revert back to the movable.sed that came with that replacement 3DS. Reinstall the games and restore the saves.

???

I don't think you can use the stolen 3DS's movable.sed if that system gets banned from a Nintendo. (aka, you can't go onto Nintendo eShop, etc.)

Thanks so much! I'll check if I find any old copies of my SD, because I'm pretty sure I made a backup at some point..... I don't think I'll report the serial number as stolen, because I can use the FriendCodeSeed to unban me, as you said, in case I get banned.

Again, thank you so much! Have a wonderful day!

Just know whoever stole your 3DS can get himself banned first, rendering your old LocalFriendCodeSeed useless. You might as well enjoy in having your old code banned yourself.

Go have fun in cheating in games, stating your favorite app is freeShop in the Friend List, and what other big no-no's you're not suppose to do. Once that's been burned, then report it stolen.

* Just don't make a NNID tied to your new 3DS when you get yourself banned.
