So I was trying to get My vWii to read my Flash Drive (USB) but I couldn't find success, read several posts that said I needed to install some ios I didn't have on the wii but eitherway it doesn't load on CFG or USBloaderGX.
Tried to Syscheck but it froze on "Looking for IOS202 vulnerabilities", tried to delete IOS202 with MMM13.4 but it just doesn't delete.
When trying to install ios 249 base 56 using d2x cios installer brings me this error on both beta53 and 52:
"TMD Version wrong 5662 !=5918.
ERROR(s) occured during cIOS249-v10-beta53-d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii base 56 rev21010 installation"

Also when turning the wii on this message is written on the mid bottom screen:
"Error Autobooting HBC, maybe title not installed?"

Hoping someone helps me with those errors, maybe I did wrong by installing several things (IOS and Wads) to find the solution that ended screwing things up.

1. DON'T USE FLASHDRIVE .
I don't know how many time we will have to say that.
they are NOT working.
ok, they could work if you..... BUT NO ! don't try ! it'll NOT work. it would have already work if your flashdrive was compatible. hint: it's not compatible. get a real external HDD.

2. you found guide telling you things. you mean outdated guide?

3. your syscheck version might be old ! outdated guides, probably.
latest version is in my signature.
if latest version has issue loading any IOS slot, there's an option to skip it and continue the check.

4. if you have the "hbc not found", are you using priiloader or bootmii?
maybe you installed latest HBC version (1.1.3?), its title ID is not known to many homebrew, it's recommended to keep 1.1.2 max. 1.1.3 is useful for WiiU vWii only.

launch HBC, press Home button, and tell us the version and the IOS.

I'm not a fan of WiiModLite or any "all in one tools", to me it feels like PimpMyWii, trying to do things in your place. I prefer dedicated tool, doing one thing correctly instead of multiple okay-ish.
if you want a wad manager, please use this one : https://github.com/FIX94/Some-YAWMM-Mod/releases
this is the LATEST released version of any existing wad managers. it works on both Wii and vWii, without any cIOS needed (it uses AHB instead). it might not have options like wiimodlite, but it manage wads.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond!
I didn't know that its better to use an external HDD since my friends use flashdrives to play one game.
I'm using priiloader v0.7 (r138) and HBC version is 1.1.2.
Already used your wad manager and installed ios249 on slot 56 with no problem.
I couldn't do the syscheck even with the latest version, it freezes at "Checking for ios202 vulnerabilities", and when trying to delete that IOS with MMM it doesn't work.

old flash drive can work, but in read mode only. trying to write a file can freeze, or corrupt the partition (dumping disc, downloading covers, cheats, nintendont saving the memory card when exiting a game, etc.)
new flash drive don't work anymore with cIOS.
they work with IOS58, but it will be useful only while inside the loader. When you launch a wii game it will disconnect.
You can use flash + IOS58 to play gamecube games with nintendont, or emulators, but be careful to keep a backup of your data in case of partition corruption.

if you want to skip a slot with syscheck, you have to open the meta.xml file in syscheck folder, you will find lines located in a group called arguments.
find the line which is used to skip IOS slots, and add 202 in it. then try again. do this for any problematic slots you encounter.

MMM needs a cIOS with ES access to work, if you have 236 use that slot. if you don't have one, you can install d2x v8 base38 in an empty slot (248 for example). it can even be useful to play animal crossing.
another solution would be to overwrite 202 with another cIOS d2x (any version/base) to get a clean version working with syscheck. or even better, generate a new 202 wad file with modmii on your computer, and install it with the wad manager.

oh, one thing, don't use d2x r53 (it's beta, with bugs). use r52 instead.

if you have priiloader and hbc 1.1.2, I don't know why it can't find your HBC :(
we will have to investigate a little more.

The first one (slot 249) is fine. You should replace slot 250 with d2x v8 as well using IOS57 as base. That will make your two most common cIOS updated.

That isn't likely causing your issue, though. It's likely the flash drive. You might be able to get it to work by formatting the drive as WBFS using Wii Backup Manager. It will be read-only but it seems like d2x is a bit more tolerant of WBFS partitions than other types. I have one of those cheap all-plastic Sandisk blade drives from Walmart and it works as WBFS but not FAT32.

I udpated IOS250 using IOS57 as base so now it's the same version of the IOS249 but still doesn't recognize my Flashdrive, also tried formatting my usb with Wii Backup Manager for read only and didn't got success.
In addition I used my friend's USB that works with his wii on mine and still no recognition.
I don't know what am I missing?, maybe the trucha bug, what should I try next?

when using Wii Backup Manager, you formatted as Fat32 or as WBFS ?
I don't know if it suggest the formatting choice as wbfs.
WBFS Manager can format it, but then don't use that program to manage the device content as it will corrupt your games.

I thought the old cIOS had better compatibility with flash (rev17, or early d2x), but you might be right about WBFS format instead. rev17 worked with WBFS, not fat32. old device were in wbfs, that's probably why there wasn't as much problems.
but, like you often says, the wbfs library shouldn't even bother with the partition format as it get only the sector numbers as arguments. Maybe the issue is because it tries to mount the partition first instead of just accessing sectors?
Too bad I don't have a lot of free time, I'd take a look at cIOS and flash (with geckoOS and cIOS Debug mode, you have a lot of information, every function has a log). if yo want, you need devkitarm36 and enable the debug preprocessor.

I formatted as WBFS, but when trying to save wbfs files or so it tells me that I need to format again so I can use the drive and if I click cancel it says that the volume does not contain a recognized file system.

You have to use something like Wiimm's ISO Tools or Wii Backup Manager to transfer games to a WBFS partition. Windows doesn't recognize them.
