So I’m new to the whole switchbrew thing, and wanted to know from someone who knows more than I do (honestly anyone will :’).) of which one I should get? My only purpose for getting one of these is so I can dump my game carts and take them with me digitally.
Any helps appreciated thanks!

If you want to use own carts, go with SX OS and thus with SX pro.
Or SX OS licence and any other dongle (there are others than just R4s and SX Pro/Gear).

Sorry if these questions are painful to hear, so can I buy any dongle for the switch and it will run sx os correctly?

Do we have to pay for the license? And why do we need them since we have r4s?

Licence for sx os.
But, Tinfoil will allow you to install XCIs in the near future (there is already a video showcasing it)
You can’t really play online though (due to bans) which is the only thing putting me off either options right now

I don't know why I should be paying for:
1. P2P online, which involves no Nintendo interaction what so ever.
2. Something I never did on consoles anyway.

i'd suggest getting the r4s considering it is future proof so if you ever want to switch cfw just put a different payload on it.
the sx pro only allows for the sx os payload and doesn't let you change it. or you could get sx gear but that one works differently.
it also requires the sx os boot.dat file and the payload isn't stored on the dongle but instead on the switch.

Yea it sucks the way they’re rolling this out in a couple of months, but a bunch of friends of mine got a switch meaning I’d probably use the online often. But no I guess it doesn’t matter if you don’t play online anyway
