So currently I'm trying to English patch a Vita visual novel which wasn't released in the west, but there is an English STEAM version which I bought a while ago. It seems the files of the Vita version correspond to those of the PC version, but the PC version files are packed (or encrypted?) as iga files (STEAM In Game Actions Files). This includes the game's scrip. Perhaps this should be asked in the PC section, but has anyone an idea how to extract the files? Or are they encrypted?

I don't know the game you are trying to port, but it's basically reverse engineering both pc and vita files so you could extract the files needed and convert that to files that can be injected to the vita files. every game vary from one another some just need the basic understanding of a hex editor to be able to translate or port a game, some game requires advanced programming knowledge. You could start learning hex editing to get familiar with game assets then go from there and search extractor/ decompressor/ripper for those file types and hope someone made a tool for that specific file type.

Well opening it in a HEX editor was my first idea. I can only guess it's some kind of compressed format, as the Vita version has the script files also compressed in a file (PAK). I just can't work with iga files right now.
