Hi guys. I received my Jig today from Amazon and am very new to the Switch hacking scene and party. My Switch is on FW 5.1.0 I think, trying to hold off on upcoming System Firmware 6.0, but am afraid new games will require 6.0 (Mega Man 11 and Smash). Even though I have my Jig, I am still debating if I should proceed with hacks or not. The only hacking I would be doing is save editing. Should I proceed with hacking? Should I update to 6.0 when it is released? I read on here that 6.0 possibly has ways to detect hacks and CFW... Thoughts and help on all of this GREATLY appreciated :)

Hacks and CFW are already detectable by Nintendo, how do you think so many people got banned already? But there were A LOT of rumors surrounding 6.0.0, most of them proved to be false, though there are still tests and investigation being made, mostly to see how it will affect homebrew/backups. The save editing you want to do, offline games or online? Cause if it's for online you can COUNT on a ban

I have absolutely no idea why you felt the need to make a new thread when we have to debate such a topic (https://gbatemp.net/threads/psa-do-not-update-to-a-new-firmware-immediately-e-g-6-0.516497/) and there's one on the front page but I digress.

No game as of now requires firmware 6.0. For example, Super Mario Party does not use the masterkeys introduced in firmware 6.0. Not to mention that this firmware does not officially exist so many things can change between now and its release date. Lastly and most importantly, all CFW/hacks will be updated to work on 6.0 as the exploit on the Switch works on all firmwares. Just like Luma with 11.8, hackers can patch their work; the community just needs to be patient. Everyone will be on firmware 6.0 eventually, we just don't know when. If you cannot wait, then you will lose access to all hacks until the solution is available.

How do you know Super Mario Party does not use the masterkeys?

Its available for preload. You can download it now onto your console. However, it won't work because its missing the titlekeys which won't be released until either someone bruteforces it (highly unlikely) or someone buys the game and leaks the titlekey.

Let's make more new threads about piracy on 6.0.0 because why not? Everyone is worried about hacking and modding for the future updates. Still ignore the fact that everyone says "Do not update until it's supported".
