I've been buring my head in this forum and have my brains turned to mush by now from all the big words and procedures :S

I do not recommend following YouTube guides for actual up to date facts and procedures, but I did find watching a couple help visualize how some of the many different modules we work with here interact.

For example I was starting to get the impression at one point that the CFW GUI completely replaced OFW (Horizon) and was concerned about the ability to still have user accounts on the switch. I think Draxzelex and I were talking past each other when I was asking questions about it, but once I spent a few minutes watching a video it all became clear.

as soon as any cfw touches your switch, if you then go online, even with OFW, you will eventually get banned.

No one has been banned yet for doing so.

No, you cannot! Draxzelex's reply to you was that no one have yet been banned for using CFW on a Nand Backup, then switched to a clean Nand and went online with that.

If you use a CFW, traces of it will remain on your system even with a reboot. To not leave a single trace, you'd have to switch to a clean Nand whenever you want to go online

Again no one has been banned yet that we are aware of here. So yes, it is currently 100% safe, until someone gets banned and then it isn’t.

I installed exfat-update for my 4.1 switch.
Now, the switch doesnt say "need update to access SD" but says "cant read sd please remove / reboot".

Copy everything off the card and reformat with the official SD tool.https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/index.html

If that doesn’t work get h2testw and run that to make sure the card is good. It will take a long time so take a nap or binge on Netflix.

I winrar'd my nand and it's 1.21GB Seem too small but it seem to extract fine...
Any reason I shouldn't do this?

That should be fine but if you're paranoid, you can also try backing up to the NAND uncompressed on a cloud sharing service.

I just have a couple questions about removing SD cards as I’ve yet to do it since installing CFW.

- Do I need to shutdown the Switch or can I take it out while it is in sleep mode?
- Does the Switch stay in RCM mode or do I need to use the jig again once I put the SD card back in?

1. Sleep mode is severely underrated. You don't really need to turn off the console unless you want to swap SD cards
2. When you take out the SD card, the console reboots which removes the CFW you loaded (because its temporary). The console will reboot into RCM (which stands for Recovery Mode so try not to say RCM mode as its redundant) if AutoRCM is installed or if you are shorting pin 10 via a jig and holding volume + while it reboots.

One more question, I’ve installed my games to the internal memory so far but say I install some to the SD card and I put it into sleep mode while playing a game installed to the SD card. Will it screw up/corrupt anything when removing the SD card in sleep mode?

It really shouldn't because sleep mode doesn't power down the console or anything. It keeps it on with the bare minimum number of systems running.

When i try to install an xci => nsp with tinfoil, tinfoil says: installing 1/1.
Thats all.
For 20 Minutes now.

The same goes for an unconverted original nsp.

PS: i used a downloaded keys.dat from the internet to convert with 4nxci.

If even an original nsp file refuses to install, it could indicate a problem with Tinfoil itself. Which version of Tinfoil are you using?

Oh and it might help to know what game you are trying to install aswell

I am getting ready to use my Pro SX for the first time and I want to back-up my NAND. So my question is, can I use the USB-C cable that came with the Nintendo Switch to plug into the PC ?
