My attitude is basically what will be will be.

It will suck when Smash comes out, as I would fully intend to buy Nintendo's online service and the game, which is risky so I probably won't.

i think that it might be change the question of the CFW, in theory rei send less telemetry to nity.

ReiNX is actually based off of Hekate (in fact, so much so that there was a bit of a commotion because naehrwert was not properly credited) so the two are similar. RajNX is yet another fork of Hekate with the ES patches from ReiNX. SX OS is closer to Atmosphere, but a very old build of it. To recap: all non-TX CFWs are very similar to one another.

I honestly think the best way to avoid a ban is to wait until there is emuNAND and a way to snub out internet connection entirely to prevent any kind of accidental connection. That way you can do homebrew/piracy in emuNAND completely offline, and then go over to your clean sysNAND for legit titles/online play.
Even that's not air tight though if Nintendo decides to do low level sd scanning to detect emuNAND from sysNAND, though I doubt they would do that.

even with that you can switch your SD, also i am doing that when i use emulator or something like that and restore nand. i hope that emunand will be on the next months...

Thinking about it it's probably best to switch cards anyway if you plan on installing nsp games to SD, so they don't show up to sysNAND at all.

I know this isn't a priority but can you please change instances of layeredfs that uses backup to backup loading with layeredfs? And make game modding separate questions.

Also might want to add that layered fs was never designed to be used now & never designed to launch pirated games (apparently sciresm uses some sort of custom error code for this, thx @The Real Jdbye )

PS. to anyone reading this: these report and bans aren't necessarily to be trusted. I know @Draxzelex is doing his possible, but you can literally be banned for nothing and everything. Stupid example (because who knows what Nintendo does/will do): you get banned for restoring a save of a game you never played in your playlog. You get banned because of a silent error.... and etc.

I feel like an idiot for not acknowledging this earlier. Although working mods for Switch games only recently appeared as well as a free way to launch backups so I don't feel that bad but the point remains. I've now updated the first LayeredFS question to properly reflect usage of this homebrew. I'll make the assumption majority of people were using it for backup launching up to this point for reasons I stated earlier on top of the fact that most people nowadays aren't saying yes to using it.

I got the SX Pro, followed instructions, and happily playing .xci games
Went to play Doom, and as soon as it loaded after few seconds i get the error 2124 4007.... it didn't even load the game.
I switched off, removed auto rcm and reboot stock firmware and then went to eshop fine and played stock street fighter online happily
I rebooted once more, went to eshop and got that error again and couldn't play street fighter online.
Oh well, least i can play the latest .xci games... unless someone finds another way round this...

Hey, did you happen to create your own XCI of Doom? Or was it a scene release?

Just used the one downloaded from net. Nothing was pre done by myself.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Doom is a rare exception because the game tries to connect online whenever it starts. The copy you ran had no certificate so if you didn't boot it in flight mode then your ban would make total sense.

@Draxzelex you might want to add that nx dreport is not safe on the last firmware+ shouldn't be used (creport mustbe used instead)
It is already and reflected on the spreadsheet (red boxes for 5.X firmwares under clear error logs). I don't use the official name since some noobs don't know it and use tomGER's SD files for example which has it built into Hekate so they just referred to it as that instead (initially I asked if people used nx-dreport but everyone kept responding they cleared error logs using Hekate). Although now might seem like a good time to start asking if people use creport...
