I'm looking for a group of developers to help me make a father who actually loved me, the name will be along the lines of Bruce Stark but that's not important please please pm me if interested.

Okay, jokes aside, this is more of a PSA.
If you want something done, do it yourself.
Don't ask or "suggest" applications while specifically calling for developers to do work for you for free. That's not how Homebrew development works.

This isn't to say you can't ask or suggest certain apps or fearures, but understand, you yourself can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to make what you yourself want, so don't treat this as a charity work thread.

Ok, I'm on it. I'm really sorry I didn't get on this sooner; I wasn't checking the forum regularly enough. I'm so sorry about that. But I skipped church today to work on this, because making sure a random person on the internet is happy, well, that's far more important than whether or not I spend eternity in hell.

YOU ARE WRONG!!! Asking strangers on a random internet forum is THE BEST way to get an app made for you!
Don't you know that we developers just sit around all day wishing someone would ask us to make an app for them?? Our life has no meaning unless we are slaving away making apps for random people who want them!!!

Oh, I hope you didn't think I was being sarcastic....

Here's your app:

[edit new link] https://wiibrew.org/wiki/User:Mr._Reaper/Loving_Father

I hope Wii homebrew is fine; you didn't specify!

(Hm, I don't know how good that free file host is. Does anyone know of a homebrew-oriented file host that is reliable? And no, not Wiibrew. I'm not sure I Wanna post this there under my name! I have a reputation to maintain!! A reputation!!!)

I don't understand... I released a new homebrew app yesterday, and I'm refreshing this page to check it every every 30 seconds in anticipation of the throngs of people telling me how awesome my app is and how much of a genius I am for creating it, and how much my app has improved their lives and made the world a better place... yet nobody is posting?
I mean, this is the whole reason we developers create apps, you know!

I don't get it? Is something wrong? Maybe the internet isn't working right?

I guess I'll just keep refreshing the page every 30 seconds until the internet starts working again....

Ok guys, I'm starting to get worried.

I made a homebrew app at the request of @Ric-Are-Those but he hasn't replied to tell me how great it is....

I mean, he should have been just sitting there waiting in expectation that someone would quickly create his requested app so he could try it out immediately, but it's been a couple days and he hasn't said anything at all.

Do you think he's ok??

Oh my gosh, what if he killed himself because his father didn't love him, and it took me too long to complete the app to make him a Loving Father?? I know it took me two days from his request, and I really should have gotten it finished sooner, but I wasn't watching the forum closely enough! And my gosh, man, all random app requests on internet forums should be stickied or something to show how important they are!

But if something happened to him it will be all my fault for not creating his app fast enough!!

Can one of you guys go over to his house and check on him??

Ok, he hasn't replied to say how much he loves his app after 3 days... He's definitely dead.

You see? This is why some developers don't make apps for rando requests -- it always ends with someone committing suicide! I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me....

I guess the only thing to do now is to install a Wii inside his tombstone with some solar panels to power it, and have an LCD screen embedded in it so that Loving Father talks to everyone who walks by, as a final tribute to Ric-Are-Those's bravery for asking random developers on a random internet forum to crate an app for him.

:cry::cry::cry:

Ya know, I don't think you people realize just how serious it is when you suggest an app on a random internet forum. It's like asking for a committed relationship with a developer. Once the developer accepts your suggestion and creates your app, you have entered into a binding contract with that developer, and you can't just shirk your responsibilities.

Do you think it's like a one-night stand for us developers?? Like you can just use us to get what you want, and have us spend the best minutes of our life creating your app, then you can just go off and suggest apps to some other developer??

Apps are like children, you know! When you suggest an app and a developer creates it, it's like the two of you have created a new life to send out into the world! And you're just going to ignore that child and leave it sitting on a file host like you don't care about it?? You might as well throw it in a dumpster so some homeless appophile can have his way with it!

You people should really think about these consequences the next time you consider posting an app suggestion on an internet forum!

Eh, it was nothing, really, but thanks, I guess, or whatever.

Hey, wait a minute... did you even try the app??

I bet you didn't, did you??

You're just saying that to try and make me feel better!

That is just so... nice of you!

:D

You're like the kind person who tells someone their baby is cute, when really it's fugly as heck (as all babies are). ;)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
